3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from bottle into shaker glass. Pours very light cloudy yellow, almost murky with lots of particles. Nice white creamy head with good lacing that never quite diminishes. Minimal malt smell to speak of, with very strong grassy orange hop smell. Can also pick up some pineapple. Starts somewhat sweet - very bright, zesty taste and refreshing. Finishes slightly sweet with good bitterness; expected much more bitterness with all the hop smell. Nice long finish. Medium-bodied, thin texture and slightly bubbly on the tongue. Has a bit of an alcoholic mouthfeel. Great refreshing beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Alberstons. Very pale cloudy yellow with lasting head and lace. Coriander orange bready aroma. Fresh fruity melon sweetness with orange citrus and spicy long bitter and coriander finish. Definitely more on the wit side than the ipa side except for the long spicy bitter mildly tart finish. Nice soft carbo and light body. Good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deschutes Chainbreaker has a thin, white head and an opaque, brilliant, gold-yellow appearance, with a small amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is a very bright, one could describe it, or bursting, citrus and white bread, sugary smell, and the flavor is of sweet orange, white bread, coriander, a bit of white pepper, and orange juice (think of a magnolia). Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Deschutes Chainbreaker finishes tart and highly drinkable. RJT

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This pours a semi-hazy color with some floaties and an frothy off-white head. The aroma is very citrusy for an IPA. The taste is light and very clean with lots of herbal and citrusy note. This is an intriguing brew from Deschutes with a very unique taste for the style that either be a hot or miss with the drinker.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy, nearly opaque yellow with a mid sized, but quickly dissipating head. Beautifully pungent aroma consisting of citrus, hops, yeast and banana. Absolutely delicious. Initially, Belgium white flavours are present featuring creamy smooth banana, bubblegum and yeast, but the finish is mildly hoppy and grassy. Certainly suits its title as a white IPA and is executed very well.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 1 - London. Pours cloudy yellow with a light, foamy white head. Refreshing tangy lemon accents, sugary wheat, light bitter hay. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish with more lemon, some grapefruit pith, hints of sweet wheat. Solid.

A good beer for sure, however not perfect. A good thing for people to try that are familiar with Deschutes, but wanting to branch out from Black Butte or Mirror Pond.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour is a hazy bright golden/yellow. Thin white head leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma is funky yeast, wheat, and lemon. Taste is wheat, pilsner malt, lemon, some spice, and some funk. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not very bitter for an IPA. More along the lines of a hopped up Belgian Wit.
