Like fresh powder, itís a seize-the-moment kind of thing. This year weíve chased down Virgil Gamache farms, famed amarillo hops. At harvest, we rush the hops from the vine to our kettles to ensure we capture the purest, juiciest essence of the hop flower in every beer. Enjoy the bright, bold aroma and flavor that comes but once a year

Bomber from the Davis Co-Op (CA). Pours translucent gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus zest, almost, with earthiness. Full bodied til the carb leaves. Itís very hoppy. Very zesty. Orange. So strong that burnt rubber comes to mind. Why? Donít know. Itís not all that bitter compared to the hugest NW IPAs, but it does not lack flavor and bitterness. I cannot recall a fresh hop beer that is so striking as this. It just bowls me over. Brilliant effing ale.

Strong aroma of pils and urine. Literally like a skunky miller. Taste is better but very light malt. Almost adjunct. Not pleasant. Moderate hop flavor but not pleasant.

Pours clear golden color with one finger of white lacy head. Smells of grapefruit and piney hops with grassy notes as well. Not overly strong hop flavor. Earthy/grassy notes as well. Decent fresh hop beer. Nothing great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a surprisingly light gold with a white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is bold and interesting: hay, floral, grass, and grapefruit. Taste is good but weighted towards sour. Finish is quick with lingering bitters. Itís good. Wouldnít necessarily seek it out but would drink again.

Pours a golden straw color with a puffy white head. Smell is pretty bad actually, kind of like a litter box... but sweaty. Iím not a fan of that. Taste is lightly sweet, fairly malt forward with earthy, spicy hops rounding out the middle. Surprisingly light body, and a pleasantly crisp finish.

Aroma is strong grassy hops, pine and a strong hint of bitterness. The flavor is citrus, strong grassy hops, juice notes, fruit, grapefruit, malts in the background and a very tangy/mildly dry finish.

22 oz bomber poured into a shaker pint. Pours dark yellow with thick fluffy white head. Aroma is fresh citrusy hops with a decided buttery flavor. Taste is light pale malt with big earthy fresh hops on the finish. Grassy, citrus, earthy notes. The malt bill seems a bit lacking for a 7.4% IPA. Fresh hops are nice and light, without the heavy bitterness of Inversion. Almost more of a fresh hopped pale.
