Like fresh powder, it’s a seize-the-moment kind of thing. This year we’ve chased down Virgil Gamache farms, famed amarillo hops. At harvest, we rush the hops from the vine to our kettles to ensure we capture the purest, juiciest essence of the hop flower in every beer. Enjoy the bright, bold aroma and flavor that comes but once a year

Pours a honey-golden into the glass, with a thick white head that leaves cascading ring lace down the glass. Fresh earthy citrus hop aromas. There exists a nice balance between tangerines, a melon earthiness and a peppery spruce-pine hop backing finish that collectively emboldens the flavor palate without "taking over" any portion of it. Everything about this brew exists as an expert balance between contingencies. The body is light but substantive, the palate is active, yet smooth, and the mouthfeel is complex, yet aerated. The beer version (and reminiscent) of a great Chardonnay, this offering stands as "the example" of a perfectly integrated IPA. Just superb!!!

Very, very nice. Yellow, straw colored pour. Light head, aroma is much lighter than expected. Hop-centric beers I expect to have a powerful smell but this was much more restrained and delicate. Sort of like the taste, which was relatively light, a bit sweet, lemony, hint of pine. Thick malty backbone, a lot going on here. Expecting a hop bomb and getting a rich, balanced, highly enjoyable beer. No piney, resiny, oily aftertaste, just a pleasant lasting bitterness. Nicely done. Would I drink again? absolutely. Would I order again? n/a, but definitely yes.

That "windex-y" taste I really don't prefer. I can drink it, but not a favorite. Must be a single hop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yellow pour with a nice tight head. Big aroma of apricot, pepper, lemon. Lovely flavor with a bit of bread followed punchy hop flavors. Great bitter dry finish. Nice beer with an interesting hop flavor. Even though I know it is Amarillo, it doesn’t taste like your typical Amarillo heavy beer.

On tap at the Holy Grail. Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is full of pine with some orange and biscuit malt notes. The flavor is full of resinous pine with some orange citrus, biscuit malt and a medium amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice beer.

Bomber. Pale yellow with a thin white head, light sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Resinous hops, black peppercorns, yeasty bread, lemon rind. Quite sweet with a resinous bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, light sticky feel. Interesting flavor, solid IPA.
