Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. The aroma has a soggy bread character, soap and veggies, some pale malt and no hops ~ sure doesn’t smell like a fresh hop IPA to me. It has a medium / light body with lots of sharp frothy carbonation. The taste begins with pale malt, light caramel, spice, pine, veggies and mustiness. The finish has more hoppiness with spice, pine and mint along with some grapefruit zest. As it warms the hops start showing up more. This is okay and has a nice hoppy character, but I’m not a fan of the overall package.

22 oz bottle pours yellow with a white head. Aroma of malts, floral and a touch of citrus. Taste is the malts, nice bitter hops, but not as bitter as I was expecting.

22oz bottle $5. Appearance is super light yellow with a puffy white head, plenty of lace. Aroma is oddly like a pilsner, minerals, weird that I don’t get much hops from this. Flavor brings hoppiness but in an odd fashion, citrus and grass are muted by the weird malt profile. This wasn’t bad but it was a disappointment compared to hop trip or fresh hop mirror pond.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MrFecesious (329) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 21, 2012
On tap at Darby's. clear yellow gold with white, medium density cap. Aroma of green grapes? Straw, and lightly bitter citrus. Taste is kind of lager-ish. Actually, aroma is reminiscent of pil malts. This is strange. It's not so much bitter as "fresh" or "crisp". And there's a lingering dark malt taste. almost a hint of saltiness. Trailing pepper, which actually peaked my interest a bit. Certainly not what I expected in this beer, or from deschutes.

Sampled in a bomber. A nice mild ipa. I was hopping for a bit more of a hop palate but this old have used a bit more.

Pours a very pale yellow color with a nice white head that leaves plenty of lacing in the glass. The aroma is probably this beers strongest attribute with a citrusy hop smell coming through cleanly. The taste is a bit light but that does make it very easy to drink. Overall this beer is not anything amazing but it is a decent example of a fresh hop ale.

4000th rating. Woo. Nothing too crazy, just doing it in order for the most part. Draft from Angel’s Trumpet, served in a tulip. Pours a somewhat cloudy, but bright yellow-gold color with a finger of white head. Aroma of fresh herbal, grassy hops, pale and sweet malts, lemon citrus, and faint floral notes. Flavor is mostly the same but didn’t operate on quite the same level. Light-bodied, with a fresh, herbal, citrusy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Really nice and refreshing. Dug this one.

22 oz pours surprisingly white, smells of cat piss, grass, lemon and bubblegum. Tastes very light with a very distinct fresh hop flavor. Not the super bitter beer that I was hoping for but enjoyable and light. Tastes like a pale ale.
