COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like fresh powder, it’s a seize-the-moment thing. At harvest, we rush Goschie Farms’ Cascade hops fresh from vine to kettle. Not any Cascades, mind you, but an heirloom strain, from a single field, restored from the original rhizome. Hope you’re as hopped up as we are.

Sampled in a bomber. A nice mild ipa. I was hopping for a bit more of a hop palate but this old have used a bit more.

Pours a light, crystal clear yellow-golden color with a foamy, nearly pure white head. Head retention is about average with sudsy residue remaining on the edge of the glass as the head dissipates. A bouquet of grass and lemon with a few notes of pine. I’m not familiar with heirloom cascade, but I don’t get the grapefruit that is usually associated with cascade hops. Mouthfeel is very good for this style. Wet, slick, and not too much carbonation or hop hotness. The color, mouthfeel, and cleanness in the flavor compliment very well. This beer drinks a lot like a pilsener. A lot of nice balance. A pilsener bitterness appears at the finish. Some tangy citrus in the middle. No alcohol heat or taste at all, even though the ABV is pretty high. I really like this beer.

Crisp, very light golden coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall white head and a honey glow - very nice, albeit light colour. Aroma of malt, alcohol, corn, coriander seed, hay, grass, and yes - a tiny bit of hops - not as much as expected - perhaps just the dry hopping is lacking? Medium to an Odd-Full-bodied; Strong malt flavour up front with a very interesting hop flavour right afterwards, more of grassy and resinous hops, but with a big full body that goes down like syrup. Aftertaste shows only a bit of the hops, mostly malt with cardboard mixed in, some lighter hay and grass notes and a hint of syrupy sweetness on the end. Overall, a very interesting beer - not like most fresh hop I/APAs, but more of a syrupy, resinous APA that doesn’t show enough complexity to be considered great or even good. Drinkable for sure, but not worth the money or space in the suitcase. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Texas Liqour in Carlsbad, California on 19-March-2013 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington on 24-March-2013. Sampled within five days of purchasing the beer - albeit the best by date on the bottle is 27-December, it seems like the store had it for quite a while.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Big citrusy notes, sweet sugar, caramel, some spicy character as well. This beer is okay.

22oz bottle. Pours an opaque light golden/straw color. Aroma of citrus, grass, clean. Flavor is citrus, spruce, resin. Hops is very much in the fore here with a citrus up front, bitter middle and dry pine and resin finish.

Light citrus hop aroma... Color is golden... Flavor is fairly malty and sweet initially which gives way to floral hop bitterness on the finish... Fairly sweet for a west coast ipa... Kind of an English malt mouthfeel with a west coast ipa finish... Nice ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Was really excited about this brew. Quickly became disappointed, though. Nice nose of fresh, piney, bitter hops. Did not enjoy the malt bill, however. Did not support the strong hops. Bad cracker, light pilsner taste.

Bookseeb (52) - Wenatchee, Washington, USA - JAN 29, 2013
Appearance has a hazy golden yellow color supporting a thin head leaving spotty lace. Aroma of sweet citrus, mild hop and caramel malts. Taste again has that sweet citrus carrying a fair malt backbone that blend well with the hops. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Not an aggresive IPA, but more of a refreshing IPA.
