riversideAK (1468), Shoreline, Washington, USA Apr 22, 2008 Aroma of toasted malts, floral and pine hops too. Pours a straight amber color with a nice lasting head. Flavor is also toasted malt, not really sweet, but nice and toasty. Hops come through as floral and maybe a little aspirin like. Easy drinking brew, more flavorful than most amber ales.
thickfreakness (11), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 25, 2008 Got this as an extra in a trade. Thanks. This pours a ruby red with a little white head that fades fast and leaves a little bit of lacing. Smells nice and rich caramel and biscuity malts with a slight bit of spicy, earthy hops. Taste is similar with a lot more fresh earthy and pine cone like taste with plenty of rich caramel and biscuit malt. Really smooth easy drinking red ale. A nice beer. Odeed (1438), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 25, 2008 (Thanks to irishboy for the bottle)copper colored body with a nice white head.the aroma is a blend of biscuit malts, caramel malts, and pine hops.flavor is much of the same with a nice spicy finish.not bad for a red at all. KeithD (190), Outer Space, Congo Jul 19, 2008 Scored this brew in Montana. It’s got lots of hoppy spiciness going on, it’s like you took a big chunk of spicy moss out of the ground and shoved it into your gaping mouth with a long pine cone, and then chewed the pine bark and a cinnamon stick with some fizzy biting zazz. You are walking through the great vast forest of eternal sorrow, when a shadowy figure emerges from the thicket and as you are paralyzed with fear, it draws near and shoves pine cones into your gaping eyesockets with reckless abandon... It is the great dark spirit of the mystic forest, and only now in this late hour do you realize the folly of your ways... You should have taken a different path. DuffMan (1890), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 18, 2008 Deep glowing copper, huge aromas of burnt sugar, spice, dried leves and subtle peachy fruit. Wow! Richly hopped, lots of tangerine and peach, with a delicious crystal malt in perfect balance, and a little spice in there too. Absolutely excellent! Taverner (417), San Ramon, California, USA Jul 14, 2008 Very good red. Full of nice bitter, refreshing hops. Body has some malt, but is still very dry. Pours red with foamy tannish head.
