4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Was not expecting the ridiculous complexity in this beer. Sweet, a little funky, very belgian. All kinds of fruit and wine, especially in the aroma, and a nice spicy yeast bite. Bigger in body (and abv) than expected. A nice, contemplative sipper."

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Purchased at Bel-Air in Woodland. Best by December 2014. The aroma has sweet honey, and floral character present. Some vinous character is also there along with some anise and a little rubber. Ethanol is also detected. Transparent copper-orange body with a small, weak quickly dissipating off-white head present. Starts with a tart, dry, astringent start. Rather vinous. Becomes woody in the middle. Light floral sweetness is also present. Finishes with an ethanol warming sensation. This is a really bizarre hybrid of wine and beer. I’d be interested to have a wine fan’s perspective.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Crazy, slightly hazy deep brass with a small white hat. Alcohol, forest funk, dried cherries and cranberries, orange, vanilla and bready, leathery yeast tickle the nose. This sweet elixir has a slick feel and finishes dry. Tasty but pricey like most of Deschutes aged goodness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, clear orange-red pour with white lacing head, aroma brought big white grape, oak, vanilla, hints of yeast, spice into some biscuit, dough type notes in there. Taste is a mix of white fruit, orange, peach into some sweet vanilla, oak, slight yeasty esters into a bit of biscuit, finishing fruity, sweet. A bit of heat, but not bad.
