This strong porter features a solid smoke presence, a rich malt character and a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. Additions of dark muscovado sugar, oats and wheat contribute to its complexity.

Pour winds up an unimpressive flat cola. Aroma is stellar, complex, an immediate favorite: smoke, soy sauce, slight vanilla, woody, nuts, dough, clove, and more. Could spend hours getting lost in these aromas... like a scotch. Taste is somewhat unbalanced as sour and bitter overpower but still very enjoyable. Super slick mouth feel gives way to a lingering bitter finish. WOW! Will buy again on the reg!

Hazy amber color with a small beige head that goes away quickly. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Very sweet flavor driving to a slightly hoppy finish. Thick body and low carbonation.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Clear dark brown, thin fizzy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of strong smoke, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is caramel, stone fruit, smoke, chocolate, dark fruits. Medium bodied. Very nice.

Not my favorite style. Also, I kept this about six months too long in the cabinet. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Might have been beige, even. Kind of malty, kind of roasty, light chocolate, light coffee, light body. Mild bitter at the end. Tepid smokiness, I tried, just not my thing.

Bomber from Antioch Fine Wine. Very dark brown pour, with a bit of a tan head. Aroma had sweet caramel, some choc and some smoke. Taste is caramel, some brown sugar, light molasses, and some meat smoke. Medium to full bodied, with some alcohol. Finishes more sweet than bitter. Decent brew, not stellar. 13.7

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2014 Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. A big sweet malty smoky flavor. Dry earthy. Solid. The base porter is fairly robust with light sugary sweetness, nutty at times, mellow but nice smoke.

"A little sweeter chocolate and caramel character than expected and a little less roasted barley and coffee. The smoke is done very well. Medium bodied and smooth, especially at 9%."

Combo of Great Lakes and Deschutes. Tasted on 3/28/2014. Got for $7.27 per pint. It’s a superb blend of Black Butte Porter and Edmund Fitzgerald, with roasted smoked malt. Not too chocolate, not too coffee, not too much smoke.

22oz. bottle. Moderately smoky, roasty and mildly sweet dark malt presence, with notes of toffee, faint raisin, black cherry and chocolate. Mostly black in color, only some faint dark brown highlights showing around the edges, with a very fine, slight head. Flavor profile is similarly malt-driven, with plenty of chocolatey sweetness blending with the smoke throughout, some brown sugar, roast and light bitterness appearing towards the finish, which shows lingering hints of tobacco and coffee. Smooth with a low degree of effervescence and very gently warming on the palate with a relatively full body. Pleasant, certainly not overly smoked.

Love the smokey smell followed by the smokiness finish! A perfect balance between malts, oats and smokiness.

Pours a very light and coppery brown with a muddy and reddish huge with one finger of tan head. Nose is odd, light smoke that comes as an earthy character with some alcohol. Weak aroma. Terrible flavor, kind of astringent and earthy character with a mildly goaty character. Dry and
