COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pub Exclusive: Deschutes’ version of a caramel porter...3 types of crystal malt of different intensities, plus Munich and chocolate malts with a dash of roasted barley give this beer one well-rounded profile. Add Millenium, Brewers’ Gold, and Cascade hops to the mix and you’ve got yourself one amazing NW porter! IBU’s: 35 ABV: 6.3%

On tap at the Portland brewpub. I have to agree with the prior poster that this beer is like a less intense version of BBP, though I don’t really think "intense" is the right word for that beer. Everything just seems a little lesser in this one, though it’s still a solid beer and has a nice roast quality to it.

Tap at Deschutes: Dark brown pour with a finger of brown head. Nice bits of lacing. Smells lightly roasty, chocolate, and a faint coffee/mocha. Flavor is milder in the roast and more centered around chocolate and coffee. Imo, this has a lot of mocha elements... A lot like Black Butte, but softer and less intense. Nice offering.
