The first traditional Belgian ale brewed in out Portland Brewery. This ale is brewed with Saaz Hops and Belgian abbey yeast. The well balanced amber color delivers notes of caramel with a light and subtle finish. An ale that's worth the Dubbel name. IBU's 14 Alcohol Content 7.1% Snifters Only: $4.00

"a solid, if unspectacular, interpretaion of the style. malty, breadlike, doughey aroma, nice ruby brown color, decent medium bodied feel. flavor is yeasty and doughey, with a touch of spice and earth."

Hazy browh color with minimal head. Grain, with faint hops. Dark fruits and yeast in the body.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a murky brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that recedes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of ripe fruit, yeast and mildly spiced hops. Medium, soft body with flavors of caramel malt, yeast, hops and fruit. The finish is sugary sweet malt with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft. Rich ruby-amber beer with a tan head. Malt and yeast aroma with light spice. Rich toffee flavor with spice and yeast and a bit of light frutiness. Medium-plus bodied. Light fruitiness lingers with rich malt, yeast, and light spice.

On tap at the Deschutes Portland location. Colour... cloudy amber-brown with no head. Nose... candi sugar and dried fruit mix. Palate... sweet, candied fruit, lightly cloying, dried apricot, dates, hibiscus and a medium length finish.

On tap at Portland Brewpub--my mother’s choice. Standard Belgian Dubbel. Candy sugars and red fruits in the aroma. Same in the taste with the addition of some citrus. Taste fades quickly.

My favorite item at the brew pub out of seven beers I tried. Nice amber, brown sugar malt taste with some nutty spices and cinnamon. Creamy full body. Lightly sweet, but not too much. Surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Light carbonation. Needed a little bitterness and it would have been even better.

ON tap at Portland location. Color was darkish amber with an off white head. Aroma of sweet malt and fruit. Flavor was the same with a lot of sweetness and sugar. A bit earthy as well. Some floral and yeasty notes in the finish. Solid.

On tap at the pub in Portland. Copper colored pour with a moderate white head. Nice spicy aroma, nutmeg and caramel. Taste is a little too sweet for me, very heavy on the brown sugar and caramel. A solid offering.
