Tap: semi-cloudy copper color with an off-white head and spotty lacing. Aroma is slinky, leather, grass. Flavored are floral, soapy with a citrusy tang in the bitter aftertaste. Quite interesting
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 baraciisch (904) - USA - JAN 26, 2013
Reddish orange in color... Aroma of sugar and citrus hops... Flavor of citrus, orange candy, sugary sweetness... Enjoyable, kind of sugary...
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BEENJAMIN (55) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 25, 2013
Fresh gain, sweet maltiness, and citrus for aroma. Mildly bitter, overkill on the caramel as usual, a decent IPA.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 maekchu (1093) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 22, 2013
Draught at the Rogue Distillery & Public House, Portland. From notes (March 2010). This was a cask version. Floral, fresh hop aroma, and a bit barnyardy. Cloudy orangeish color. Mild, balanced flavors, and the same in aftertaste. They used an unnamed experimental hop (according the the bartender). Harvest hop stuff. Pleasant enough, but unexceptional.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mcberko (4065) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 3, 2012
On at Deschutes Brewpub in Portland, pours a dark, hazy orange with a small beige head. Aroma of citrus hops, fresh citrus and tropical fruit juices and some biscuit malt to back. Flavour of citrusy hops, fresh juices and tangerine, not much malt flavour, just enough to back the high juicy hop content. Very juicy and refreshing, though quite unbalanced toward the hops – could use more of a malt backbone. Nevertheless, great stuff.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Pawola22 (3108) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2012
On tap at the brewpub in Portland, OR. Pours a cloudy, deeper amber-orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is fresher citruses with a thin malt backing. Florals and pines with a light caramel malt sweetness. Flavor is similar. Fresh citruses with a thin feeling caramel malt sweetness. Some florals and pines with a bit of a zestiness before this finishes dry and moderately bitter with a thin feeling caramel. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a tasty and freshly hopped IPA, but the malts leave something to be desired. A bit thin, but enjoyable nonetheless.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Wombata (331) - Kobe, JAPAN - OCT 1, 2011
On Draft at P town brewpub 2009. Aroma: Floral and citrus hops – nice.
Flavor: Watery at first, then pepper, citrus hop tea, with moderately diluted orange syrup. Comment: Flavor didn’t live up to the promise of the aroma.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 8, 2011
Draught@brewpub (Portland, OR)
Clear deep amber color, good creamy off-white head. This brew has strange buttery-malty nose, hints of grapefruit and nettles. Medium-bodied. Flavor is better with grapefruity hops, but it also has buttery notes. Does not feel very succesful use of Citra hops.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 neepsntatties (887) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 17, 2010
On tap at the 2010 OBF. Colour... cloudy amber. Nose... the grapefruity side of IPA’s. Palate... strangely sweet, grapefruit with sugar sprinkled on top and pink grapefruit juice. Is this stuff, "spiked" with grapefruit juice??
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (8247) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 10, 2010
A hazed dark amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice fragrant hops, floral and pinhey, quite good. In mouth, a smooth pinhey hops over oily malts, well balanced, herbaceous, complex. Quite nice. On tap at Deschutes on NW11th, Sept. 5 2010.
