3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle (from the HEB- Braker and 183 collection, ha!) served in shaker- poured a transparent brazen copper color, filmy white head formed with a white ring around the glass for a head. Aroma of pine and citrus, and a faint note of sweetness. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt is not a firm as it could be for the style, but it still has some mass, light caramel throughout, extremely light hop wave in the middle, finish only has a small amount of acidity from the hops. itís ok.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. Resin and pink grapefruit hops mix with caramel malt in the aroma. Strong grapefruit and kiwifruit hops up front lead through a touch of lemon into caramel malt in the mid-palate. Lemon and resin hops give it a crisp finish. A nice, solid IPA and excellent value-for-money.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deschutes IPA is one of my favorites so I had high hopes for this one. Poured a nice clear copper with frothy head. Aroma was pleasant fruity citrusy mildly piney hops. Taste was underwhelming. I could not get past lack of bitter character. Plenty of tasty hop flavors just no bitterness. Finished too sweet and syrupy for an IPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2016 On tap at the Portland pub. Hazy, the color of old pine, yellow gone to orange with age. Citrus aroma. Taste is fresh squeezed citrus, like its name, with pine. Mildly bitter. Dry. Dry mildly bitter finish. Iíve probably had a hundred bottles of this one. Itís still my favorite to stock the little fridge in my workshop. Not my absolute favorite beer, but my favorite to keep when I want a beer and donít want to take the time to study a beer or try something mind-blowing. Always very very good.

Very nice IPA. Nice fresh hops here and a good malt profile with evident barley. Great carpet lacing and amber/copper pour. Light bitter finish. Tap at Good Dog takeover.

Bottle. Clear medium amber. Fair off-white head. Smooth. Balanced. Tasty. Tangerine. Mango. Little pink grapefruit and a touch of pine. Thereís a hint of the earthy spiciness in there too. Some biscuit. Great mouthfeel. Really nice IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from Bobís.
Orange pour with off-yellow head. Nose of citrus -- tangerine -- and tropical fruit. Not all that much onion given the hop selection. Plenty of citrus again in the flavor, without biting resinous hop oils that would come along for the ride in a more classic NW IPA. Malts far in the background, a bit of cracker. Easy to drink and enjoyable.

Not sure I continue trying Deschutes, I'm always left disappointed. This time it was worse than mediocre...from aroma to taste to finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours clear amber with a thick beige head leaving sticky lacing. Nose is chock full of tropical fruits and a little bit resinous and sticky. Taste has plenty of resin, apricot, mango and passionfruit. Really quite tropical but I feel the stickiness detracts from the overall beer. Solid
