This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of citra and mosaic hops. Don’t worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer.

Draft at Paradiso Georgetown. Clear deep amber gold color, cream colored head with good retention and solid lacing. Nice pineapple and grapefruit aroma. Taste is citrus, tropical fruit. Nicely balanced with a dry, bitter finish. Good stuff.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 6.4% ABV

Red-amber color, clean, with small head. The aroma is fruity, of unusual kind, with some redcurrant, followed by some sweaty hops, ending with a very light mint impression.
Soft mouthfeel, round, with fair sweetness; the malt flavor is good, without caramel or other declinations that may cover too much the hops; plenty of fruits, mango, strawberries, red forest berries; strong bitterness. Long final.
Without knowing the ABV it would be a very good American Strong Ale, very fruity and balanced. Maybe a bit too sweet to be really easy to drink, but very pleasant in smaller quantities.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. I am looking forward to this. I quite like Deschutes and this beer’s name excited me on the list. Clear dark amber almost russet colour with a big beige head. Some resiny hop on the aroma that gets through the big head. It’s not as hoppy as I thought it would be. Quite light and fruity and agile actually. Not a huge overpowering the senses beer, but a very drinkable, very quaffable fruity, orange fruity, satsuma fruity beer with moderate bitterness on the finish. Extremely sessionable I would have thought. Certainly gets marks for drinkability. The 355ml bottle lasted maybe 5 minutes. Lovely but in a very understated way.

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a lightly hazy amber body and a dense, off-white head of fingerthick size. Cute lacings as well. Very fruity aroma, some peaches and pine cones, but mostly it’s citrus peel. A whiff of freshly mown grass as well. There’s a nice level of sweetness in the mouth, with an appropriate level of bitterness, and loads of hoppy flavors, citrusy mostly. Full body, with a pleasant level of carbonation. Lasting finish with citrus peel and bitterness. Sure a very fine brew, one I’d love to have more of. 130704
