3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 22oz. It pours a lightly hazy amber body and a dense, off-white head of fingerthick size. Cute lacings as well. Very fruity aroma, some peaches and pine cones, but mostly it’s citrus peel. A whiff of freshly mown grass as well. There’s a nice level of sweetness in the mouth, with an appropriate level of bitterness, and loads of hoppy flavors, citrusy mostly. Full body, with a pleasant level of carbonation. Lasting finish with citrus peel and bitterness. Sure a very fine brew, one I’d love to have more of. 130704

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught@brewpub (Portland, OR)
Clear deep amber color, good creamy off-white head. This brew has strange buttery-malty nose, hints of grapefruit and nettles. Medium-bodied. Flavor is better with grapefruity hops, but it also has buttery notes. Does not feel very succesful use of Citra hops.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a slight off-white head. Aromas of old cat pee! Not harsh. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is citrus/grapefruit rind, resin, tropical, detectable caramel. Mild hop burn. It is lush in the mouth. It’s extremely hoppy. Brilliant effing ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ home from Whole Paycheck. Worrying dark amber pour with a thick white head and tons of sticky lacing. Really intense grapefruit on the nose, almost acidic. Pine, sweet caramel, and a touch of pineapple. A bit too sweet, though. Sticky, sweet, caramel on the nose. Tons of grapefruit and pineapple, some pine, and a bitter finish. While very hoppy, the beer is overwhelmed by the sweetness. Kind of conflicted.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hazed dark amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice fragrant hops, floral and pinhey, quite good. In mouth, a smooth pinhey hops over oily malts, well balanced, herbaceous, complex. Quite nice. On tap at Deschutes on NW11th, Sept. 5 2010.
