4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Growler graciously shared by a member at the homebrew club last night. Pours a hazy gold, looks similar to a witbier, really. Frothy white head. The nose is lighter than expected though it grows as it warms. Quite meaty and bacon like with a hint of lactic tartness. Hops are subdued in the nose. On tasting, the smoke is more apparent and actually works really well with the lactic notes. Surprisingly, the yeast character is pretty subdued. Very bacony, this one, with a firm hop bitterness that rounds it out. Damn fantastic stuff that I’d love to have more of.

Decent. Not amazing, but pretty dam good. Different and well blended smoky with nice grain bill and no hop aroma but overall decent

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2012 Tap @ Deschutes Bend... Poured an unfiltered, cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Nose was mostly spice, malt, and a hint of smoke. Flavor wise the smoke was more prevalent, hints of wheat malt, spices, and noticeable yeast eaters and banana fermented tones. Mild bitterness, but mostly clean and quenching.
