On tap at Portland location a couple months ago. Pours deep brown black with a cappuccino head. Aromas of toasted malts, caramel and chocolate. Taste is a bit dusty, sugary, coffee caramel and chocolate.

Growler pour thanks to Kbills. Pours out dark brown topped with a sand head. Aroma was of coffee, dark roast malts, and chocolate. Taste was more of the roast malts along with the chocolate and good coffee presents. Not over sweet has a touch of bitterness at the end to hold it together.

On tap at Portland brewpub - Black in color with a nice foam head. Smells quite chocolaty. This is a very good beer. Drink one.

draft. rich toasted oatmeal, chewy but rough with moderate roast astringency (black patent is oily and licorice like). oat character seems heavy but I can’t figure if it’s an actual ingredient. dusty roasted barley nose, medium+ oat creaminess, well attenuated and properly bitter. delicious.

Ominously dark body with a deep brown, thin wispy head. Heavily roasted malt body with slight burnt aroma intertwined with the dark chocolate and coffee notes. Silkly smooth body with lightly roasted espresso bean and chocolate nibs. Root and other earthy components with light leafy hop notes.
