GABBF ’08 - This is not the best thing to ever come out of Deschutes. Tasted slightly dirty and earthy, some what of a honey sweet maltiness with some graininess, and just a bit of detectable soapy hops in their as well.

Poured a carmel color with a medium sized white head. Tasted of carmel malts with a hint of hops. Light to medium bodied beer which was pretty clean on the palate. The aftertaste had an odd flavor I just couldn’t place. Not too bad, but probably wouldn’t drink again.

Bottle. Aroma of grain and somewhat watery. Amber body color, held to light a copper color with good carbination bubble action. Good off white head left good lacing on glass. Texture was think for an organic from other that I’ve had. Had good hop bittering balanced out by some sugary stickyness and some grains detectable. Palate was surprized this was organic and not a regular Amber Ale.

Bottle... Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Great retention. Earthy aroma of straw, black tea and spent mash. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty sweet, but earthy and herbal English hops provide enough bitterness to keep the malts in check. Sweet, grassy finish. Very nice little drinker. Bottle provided by mcbackus!

Pours a dark amber color with a nice head. Aroma of caramel and toasted malt with an earthy leafy hop balance. The flavor is lightly sweet caramel and toast with the same earthy hops in the finish. A nice session ale. One of the better organic beers I have had.

Pours copper-amber in color, Floral and grassy hops aroma with a little malt. Nice malty taste with caramel and rye, well balanced by hops in the finish, medium mouthfeel on the palate with good carbonation. Has a little spicy, cirtusy zing at the end. This is a very nice drinkable amber, with some subtle complexities.
