Light-medium body, some stickiness, somewhat dry finish. potbeercollege (254), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 27, 2009 Pours a dark amber/copper color... Not a ton of malt flavoring but a healthy amount of floral hop action. Good carbonation with citrus finish. not very much bite.... Kind of what you would expect from a beer called organic ale. GOod not great mrbirmingham (37), Kansas, USA Apr 25, 2009 Aroma: Mild aroma with notes of floral and citrus and malts.
Appearance: It pours clear with a dark copper color with a tall off white head. The Head is creamy (small bubbles) and persistent. The lacing is thick and clings to side of the glass top to bottom.
Flavor: Balanced towards the bitter side. No discernable hop flavor, but the malt backbone is strong and provides a solid canvas for bitterness.
Mouth Feel: It is a full bodied beer with effervescences on the sides of the tongue.
Overall Impression: A beautiful beer brewed to style that exudes quality. I would buy it again if I if it was sold in Kansas City. Personally I would prefer a stronger hop flavor, but then Deschutes brews IPAs and Pale Ales for hop lover like me… I have four more Deschutes beers to taste and I look forward to it.
Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Apr 6, 2009 On tap at Toronado, San Francisco, with Phyllis, 24th Mar 09. Dark amber with a full body. Lots of green hops and soft malt. One of the ’freshest’ beers you’ll ever taste. pressboxjoe (69), , New Jersey, USA Mar 31, 2009 Bottle. Oddly calm and visually kind of like an English pale ale. Fruity grainy aroma, quite malty. Nice hop bite with a warming malty mouthfeel. Gentler than say a Hop Head Red, but plenty going on. I would reach for this if it were available locally.
