brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 31, 2008 not a bad amber ale. most organics are still kind of crappy, this one isn’t so bad. i’ll try again if the price at whole foods comes down. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Oct 15, 2008 Sampled 10/15/08. This amber ale pours a deep amber color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with nice retention and decent retention. The aroma is malty, fruity with some hops. A medium bodied amber. The malts are caramely and not too sweet. A touch of fruitiness as well. The hops are fairly forward and somewhat piney. It not your typical sweet mess of malt amber, it seems to have some hops, malt character and body. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle courtesy of scrizzz. Pours a pretty clear deep red with a small white head. Flavor of sweet malt and light fruits. Flavor is light with nice fruitiness. Also a light spiciness that is really tasty. Definitely the best organic beer I’ve had (it’s a short list, but still). Nice amber with a spicy kick. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of fresh, crisp, leafy greens, coffee-ish notes, caramel malt (increasing with time), sour apple, maybe a touch of pine? Flavor malty with a spicy hop edge and a good deal of earth. Very nice beer, and the first organic brew (admittedly out of VERY few) that has impressed me. stchloe (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 26, 2008 Very solid organic ale, hops balance and lend a small nip at the end. Also just a pretty pour. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 19, 2008 Pours a hazy dark amber color from the bottle with an off-white head. Smells of appleseed and taste of red apples, caramel, and slight butter. Probably the best organic brew I’ve yet to taste. k9coug (39), USA Sep 2, 2008 I would never have purchased this beer, but found it in my 6 pack of Mothership Wit. I hate "organic" on a beer label. Classified as an amber but drinks like an IPA. Citrus "northwest" profile. Common for a micro. TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2008 I’m trying more organics when I can and this one was mid pack, actually a good flavor. First organic from Oregon for me. Good looking deep amber with a foam head. Subtle hops and malts with a slight citrus note. I would say a decent body and mild flavored ale.
