First organic from Oregon for me. Good looking deep amber with a foam head. Subtle hops and malts with a slight citrus note. I would say a decent body and mild flavored ale. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Lemon cream nose, soft caramel and honey notes. Deep amber color, latte like foam that stood firm. Rich malts, subtle hops that develop a perfect balance. Effervescent, silky body and long smooth satisfying finish. This really is one of the best balanced beers I’ve ever tasted. An excellent, excellent beer! troopie (868), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. Poured deep red with foamy white head. Much lacing. Aroma of hop and malt, a bit of citrus. Malty body with a skin of hop. Hoppish finish with an unfortunate salty note. HoppyGuy (111), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany color with a fairly thin light tan head. Aroma starts sweet, with caramel, then is followed by a hoppy tone. Taste starts a bit malty, but the strong hops presence keeps it from being sweet. It is hoppier than most dark amber brews, with a somewhat bitter finish that lingers for just a moment, but is a very good beer. I like this beer a lot, and I’d like to pair it with roast venison, roasted baby red potatoes and a spinach salad. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2008 Bottle from Connor, MT. Dark amber/orange in color. Slight malty flavor with some sweetness. Mildly hopped amber with a little bit of maltiness. Well balanced brew. Dubbercody (214), Vancouver, Washington, USA

Nice bit of sweet followed with a nicely hopped, a bit on the hoppier side for an amber, but a) it’s Deschutes and b) it’s from Oregon...what do you expect.
Fantastic Organic beer, readily drinkable by the masses. Thanks Deschutes. Gooney (57), Oregon, USA

This one actually won my Amber competition a few months ago. It takes the stigma away from organic beers. Beer2000 (1785), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2008 On tap. Amber body with a thin beige head. Aroma is gentle sweet malty with certain fruitiness. Flavor is caramel, malt, fruit and some bitterness. Somehow a bit week flavor, but still well composed indeed.
