12 oz bottle. Pours a nice reddish amber color. Thick off-white head, some lacing. Aroma is prominently caramel malt. Flavor is similar, with caramel and toffee notes very prominent. Overall I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It’s really an excellent beer, all the more so because it’s organic.

12 oz bottle. Pours brown and slightly hazy with a big rocky head and nice sticky lacing. Aroma is caramel malts, herbal hops and spices. Light to medium body with a slick feel. Flavor is crisp and clean with light caramel and light hops. A bit bland. Not too bad, just not for me.

Two fingers of head on a fairly clear, but deep red colored body. The smell is only faintly caramel. The taste is has a mild malt sweetness to start, then a mild grapefruit bitterness. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. This is an easy drinkin’ beer but still has some nice flavor.

Pours hazy amber. Slight floral aromas. Flavors indistinct but a note of sweetness does kind of come thru. More a pale than an amber in the middle and finish.

Hazy amber beer, small off white head. Smooth palate, fairly dry. Dry creamy caramel malt. A little fresh orange and a tiny bit of hop bitterness. Not bad - drinkable.

Draught at the Rogue Distillery & Public House, Portland. From notes (March 2010). Listed on the menu as 6.4% alc. and 55 IBU. Raw grassy and somewhat harsh aroma. Clear coppery color. The hoppiness comes across as a bit scratchy and aggressive. Some metallic notes in mid palate. Pleasant and heavy aftertaste. Maybe better than the bottled version.

Bottle: light amber with thin beige head. Aroma is caramel and bisquits with a soft floral note. Flavor has a dry grainy bitterness, some hay, a touch of caramel, and a mild floral hop ending. Ok beer a little blah on flavor and bitter seems a little out of balance.
