You can smell the sour off this beer. Color is hazy brown. Wicked sour taste. Hard to take anything but tiny sips. Too punishing for my taste.

Stone Sour Fest 2009
Poured orange with a hint of brown.
Nose was slightly woody with lots of horse blanket.
Tasted like a woody, bretty, earhty, astringent IPA.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 elihapa (1385) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - AUG 26, 2009
On tap at Beachwood. Pours pretty light, sort of gold-amber. Not much head to this one. Aroma is quite tart and horsey, more vinegary. Flavor starts with a bit of hop-citrus fruit, which slowly layers with brett (interesting transition!). The problem with this beer is the finish. Instead of moving gracefully towards a sour finish, this one jumps ship and lands smack dab in some red white vinegar (acetate) and alcohol.

On tap at 2009 Stone Sour Fest. Huge head. Cloudy amber color. Tons of ethyl acetate. Low acidity. Very hard to drink. Floor cleaner. yuk.

On tap at the sour ale fest. Pours a golden orange color. NI really enjoyed this one, it was a nice easy drinking sour, but still complex. Citrus, lemon, light vinegar, caramel, funky earth flavor, apple, and and some herbal hops.

(Draught) Pours a murky amber-brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of citrus, vinegar, caramel, and light herbal notes. Flavor of green apple, vinegar, white grapes, and mild hops (herbal, earthy) with a dry finish.

Stone Sour Fest, San Diego 2009.
Many complex flavors in this one. Enjoyable bitter hop twist to a sour. Vitaminy sour and lightly chalk finish.

On tap at the Stone Sourfest. This page of notes got spilled on, but I am trying to piece it together. Pours deep orange to bronze, with a [unreadable ] head. Aroma of vinegar, funk, [unreadable] brett and caramel. Taste is acidic like all the other Deschutes beers that day, lightly hoppy, vinegar [more unreadble stuff]. Medium carbonation.

On tap at the 2009 Stone Sour Fest. Very decent sour. I enjoyed the tartness with a balancing hop profile. Interesting.

On tap at Stone Sour Fest 09. Pours very cloudy brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma has some vinegar and sugar, a good deal of oak and some barnyard funk. Flavor has plenty of stinging tart vinegar, some bready wheat, and floral notes in the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
