COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hops and yeast join forces to deliver a roundhouse kick of aromatics and flavor in version 2 of our Belgian IPA. Powerful citrus notes complement spicy yeast phenolics, with an aggressive bitterness that will Van Dammage your palate. Jean Claude would be proud.

On draught at Deschutes Public House in Portland. Deep golden color. Tropical fruit aroma with some subtle funky yeast notes. Taste of bubblegum, papaya, and passionfruit. Balanced hop and yeast profile.

On tap at Deschutes in PDX. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the sense of humour for naming this beer Hard Target and incorporating the mussels from Brussels into the description. Wife and I were chuckling on the patio. Does that count as a rating? Probably not...I’ll keep going. Color was golden and a touch hazy. The Belgian yeast dominated the aroma and was pretty heavy on the flowers. Taste has some citrus and some real hefe qualities (i.e. clove and banana).

On tap @ the brewpub in PDX. Listed as Hard Target on the board, but Double Impact in the menu, and the bar staff doesn’t seem to know. We’ll list it here. On the menu @ 6.1% abv... there is some confusion here, but no way this is 8+% abv. Pours cloudy dark yellow with thin head. Aroma is bitter citrus notes and pale buttery Belgian spice. Taste is wheat-like malt, spicy and briefly harsh hops, and some spicy and citrusy notes on the finish. Not as "Belgian" as many beers in this style are, though that’s not a bad thing.

On draught at Pdx deschutes - pours a nice golden color. Nose of yeast, really floral. Complex taste of grapefruit juice, hops, cloves, and banana. Strong bitter backend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at pdx brewery. Cloudy amber with little to no head. Aroma is a good balance of basement and pine, caramel, cherries, plum, and citrus. Taste is very piney upfront, backed by a cherry, raisin, and caramel malt. Extremely dry and lingering finish.
