3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kind of hard to smell but it might just be me - a little grass and citrus. Taste is dominated by a bitter citrus flavor with some hints of biscuit and honey. Pretty good.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber to tulip. Best by 06/03/14. Nice orange honey color. Frothy white head, alcohol legs on this one. Aroma is fantastic! Right away thereís citrus, grapefruit, kiwi, pine, a bready biscuit aroma, and dare I say banana? Itís got a really sweet malt aroma too. Taste is solid, but nothing to write home about. Mild malt flavor, some grapefruit and pine hop flavors. Kind of a slippery, soapy mouthfeel that Iím kinda digging. The alcohol is hidden well at 8.8%. Overall a very solid offering from Deschutes once again.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Whole Foods in Redwood City, CA. Aromas of cold, dry biscuits and lemon rind. Starchy, grassy with a lot bitterness. Sweetens up some as it warms. Interesting take but overall a bit too much raw potato for me.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle sample at the Deschutes tasting at Aficionadoís on 1/31/14. Pours clear gold with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, pine, grass and honey. Piney flavor quickly followed by sweet malt before a grassy finish and a strange, leathery aftertaste.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2014 Bottle that I gave my brother for Christmas. He left it in a closet in his old bedroom at my parentís house, that has since been turned into a guest room. Not wanting it to spoil, as the best drink by date on the bottle was 3/14/14 I took it home with me today. I will get him something else to make up for it. Pour is a transparent light amber with a big white head that recedes to about an eighth of an inch and lasts for a while. Aroma is sweet. I get mango, papaya and a little alcohol in the aroma. Flavor is also sweet. The same mango and papaya flavors are present and they taste very nice. The finish is slightly bitter. The level of carbonation is low. For a Double IPA the body is pretty thin, but it works for this beer. Overall this is a very good beer. It is probably easier to drink than any Double IPA I have ever had. The flavor is really good.
