COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Henge Experimental IPA is our annual exercise in IBU escalation. An outrageous amount of Centennial and Cascade hops are added to each barrel, with a heavy dry-hop presence as well. It is dense and muscular, with a blend of crystal, pale and carastan malts creating an overall biscuity characteristic. It’s all hop, no apologies.

Very nice DIPA. Grapefruit on the nose, after a yellowish-white frothy pour leaves a deep yellow clear color. Grapefruit on the tongue as well, along with resiny notes supported by a strong malty base. Quite syrupy in mouthfeel, this could be Dogfish Head 120's younger brother, with a suitably lesser but still high ABV of 10.6. Perhaps even more balanced as a result, too. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells like pool water, very bitter, not very full-bodied, but classic IPA taste. Particularly high ibu

Poured from the bottle. Bomber from Blackwells. Cloudy orange with a ton of white foamy head. Smells incredible - peach apricot hops and citrus. Very hoppy taste and alcohol stands out actually. Great beer though

22oz bottle from Otto’s Sausage Kitchen. Shared by me with me. A: Mixture of copper and gold with a stolid, dense cream colored head. Slips off the sides of the glass. The carbonation is rising through the body. N: Grapefruit and pine are the dominant flavors from the hops. Has a sweet caramel/toffee base. Hints of the pineapple. Has the kind of nose that sits in the nostrils. Drippings of honey and melon. Some tangerine/oranges. T: Mango, pineapple, grapefruit rounded out at the edges by pine and forest floor. Malty base adds excellent balance to the proceedings, never letting this become too bitter or too sweet. The hops linger on the palate and soak the tongue. More honey. A little bubble gum flavoring detracts some. M: Sticky and resinous. Starts sweet/ends dry. This beer lingers better than any other DIPA, in my opinion because of the interplay of flavors. O: This beer never fails to impress me. This is the first time I’ve rated it, but I’ve had it in a number of blind tastings and it ends being my favorite because it’s the complete package.

Big PNW hops on the nose. Beefy body, though the alcohol is well hidden. Caramel, toffee followed by a wave of citrus. Big beer all round.

Pours a pale gold with a white head and fair lacing. Lots of floral hops with some tropical citrus. Strong, hoppy flavor that’s not too bitter. Good, but fairly one-dimensional.

Yes, it’s crazy hoppy. No, it’s not especially good. The flavors don’t blend very well and the taste just isn’t there.

Pours light honey with a white head. Nose of floral hops. Smooth mouthfeel to accompany the smooth hops aroma. Some sweetness. Not complex, but very enjoyable.
