Hazy orange with a filmy head, good lacing and mild carbonation. Aroma of orange, peaches, caramel, toffee, and piney hops. Flavor consists of piney/resin hops, caramel malts and some yeasts. Body is moderate and mildly carbonated. Pretty good!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Grapefruit aroma - but not overwhelming.
Hazy orange color, very inviting.
I like the balance between the malt and the hops - good stuff.
Overall, I wouldn’t turn it down. Good beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On Draft - A really solid double IPA, checking in at 9.3 abv. The aroma is a nice mix of floral and citrus and the malt balances nicely with the lively hop characteristics. And, despite the high alcohol content, there is no overpowering booziness that comes out in other Imperial IPA examples.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Reviewed from notes. She pours a nice amber/bronze color and leaves a nice lookin’ body that is somewhat transparent with a one finger white foamy head that rises just a bit and then falls leaving some lacing that just all about in its own sort of way. Light carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace. The smell has some nice citrus and pine aspects that ride through a nice florally sweet hops up front. Personally, I think this is absolutely awesome to me as there are some lightly malted caramel notes. The taste has a very nice almost perfect bittersweet flavoring through the citrus/pine/floral notes that absolutely graces my mouth and tastebuds; a superb bittersweet citrus/pine/floral aftertaste; light dry somewhat bittersweet finish. On the palate, she sits about a medium, and could be construed as somewhat sessionable - hmm.... but only so much as any DIPA can be but more likely somewhat of what should be a sipper though the ABV doesn’t show too much to me; a decent harshness shows itself on the tongue and mouth to tell you its AIPA quality, but still the sweet maltiness comes through on the mouth and tongue at the right time. Holy wow! Overall, wow, I’m totally impressed. I’m glad I’ve been reinforced by this to continue to love Deschutes. This is absolutely awesome stuff that I would definitely have again.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with a creamy off-white head that left thick soapy lacing. Aroma was very bold and inviting with caramel, citrus, pine, grapefruit and oranges. Flavor of piney resin, bitter grapefruit, citrus, orange zest, and caramel malts. Full bodied, soft carbonation, semi dry finish

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ home. Like some of the other Deschutes IPAs, much dark than I’d expect/like. Copper pour with a white head. Nose is quite nice, at least. Very fruit forward. Lots of grapefruit and pineapple. Notes of apricot and peach, too. Pine, some caramel, and slight kumquat. Good balance of sweet and bitter tastes. Moderate caramel, but lots and lots of fruit. Tons of grapefruit, peach, and pineapple. Hints of kumquat on the finish and some piney bitterness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2013/2014 release - IBUs on this one is 9.3. Sweet caramel malt, resinous citrus aroma. Slightly hazy, light amber in color with minimal to no head. Dry sweetness with moderate to heavy bitterness. Full bodied and slightly sticky in texture. Lively carbonation with slight heat in the finish. The piney/grapefruit flavors of Chinook hops are definitely present.

Draft at Good Dog. Hazy yellow orange with a lacy white head. Strong citrus resin hop bite. Lemon zest. Turpentine. Green tree shoots. Honeycomb. Buttery shortbread. Green banana. Lingering aftertaste. Thick mouthfeel for an IPA. Strong, and thankfully so.
