COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Henge Experimental IPA is our annual exercise in IBU escalation. An outrageous amount of Centennial and Cascade hops are added to each barrel, with a heavy dry-hop presence as well. It is dense and muscular, with a blend of crystal, pale and carastan malts creating an overall biscuity characteristic. It’s all hop, no apologies.

Orange opaque...but not cloudy. Unique appearance. Lingering subtle bitterness. No one near as harshly bitter as I was expecting given the 95 IBUs. Balanced.

From very old notes. Had this via bomber, cant remember from where. Bitter with pine and caramel and a good dose of citrus. Pretty awesome.

650ml brown bottle. 10.9% abv on label. Best by 08/27/13. Pours golden, some haze. White creamy cap that breaks up a bit but still thinly covers the surface, good sheets of lacing in the glass. Nose is bright and hop forward, juicy orange and other citrus piths/peels and some sweetness, fruity. Taste has some sweetness up front, big citrus notes featuring orange and grapefruit, fruity notes (honeydew), some caramel malt. Bitterness isn’t huge, but is definitely there. Some alcohol that numbs the tongue a bit at the end, it isn’t hugely noticeable at first, but comes in after a bit. Body is a bit slick and full, average carboantion. Overall some excellent hop flavours, remarkably drinkable for a 10% + brew.

Bottle purchased and consumed at RIBCO, pours a clear bright golden with a bubbly white head, the aroma has a decent amount of citrus but seems to be a little more malty than I was expecting, the flavor has some floral touches on the front end but finishes with more of a sweet finish than anything, kind of a thick mouthfeel, ok.

Tap at Crow’s Feet Commons, Bend, 23/05/13. Hazed orange amber with a thin off white head. Nose is bitter orange, pine, hops, grapefruit. Taste carries a big pine bite, hops, bitter grapefruit, orange pith, citrus, grass, caramel. Full bodied, fine carbonation. Good stuff.

Bomber - Hazy gold with a chunky foamy head. Huge citrus hoppy aroma even from a distance. Halfway done with the beer and there is lacing all around the glass. Has an oily mouthfeel and a bitter finish. Real nice. Reminds me of Firestone Walker Double Jack.

Pours dark amber color with off white head. Strong hop, citrus, pine and caramel. Hop, citrus and pine flavors. Medium to full body with very bitter finish. Well balanced and very good.

Borders on barlywine...my kind of DIPA! Tastes like the juice from some kind of honey grapefruit tree. I dont normally care how a beer looks, but this one is downright sexy, like a fiery sunset. Perfect mouthfeel, complex sweet taste. Wow. Only thing keeping it from perfection to me, is it needs more hop bite.

Aroma of tropical fruits almost like a juice with lots of flavors erupting. The great amber color to the pour with a disappearing head and little lacing. It has the characteristic west coast IPA demeanor. Lots of grassiness hits the palate on every sip. Very full bodied with flavors throughout the palate. Citrus notes too. Delicious stuff and even though there's a slightly boozy angle to it, it ends up being pretty balanced overall. Lovely beer with lots happening. Great palate, and excellent for a spring afternoon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber to snifter (thanks Beerpig317). Looks solid; a transparent orange with off-white lacing. Smells malty and hoppy (in that order). Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Solid beer.
