theisti (1637), Leawood, Kansas, USA May 15, 2008 12 oz draft pour at Uber Tavern, Seattle. Pour is a mostly clear orange, brown and amber. Not much of a white head. Some really nice lacing is left behind on the glass. Aroma of grainy resin along with some bitter pine hoppiness. Taste is nicely balanced between the malty graininess and the resin pine hoppiness. Good clean finish. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 13, 2008 Where’s the imperial in this IPA??? Perdy (yes, I meant to spell it that way) crystal clear orange-amber color with a small white head that left lacing. This beer has a sweeter aroma than expected, but still possesses the traditional characteristics of most IPA’s. Flavor is well balanced and truly enjoyable...citrus, douglas fir, caramel late, minimal bitterness. A little thin. If this wasn’t categorized as a double or Imperial IPA, I’d definitely rate this highter!!! AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA May 13, 2008 Clear amber color with an eggshell white head. Big piney hop, spicy smell. Medium body and smooth. Taste is bready malt sweet at first then a tasty floral hop and spicy alcohol bitterness to finish. nice. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 13, 2008 Clear, dark crimson coloring, big, creamy slab of froth atop, lace leaving.
Intense hop aroma, big pine & grapefruit, & more fruit. Twist of orange, slice of lime, ...bitter, but lovely.
Drinkin’...plump flavor, but surprisingly easy drinking and smooth, though the hop bitterness rises up again. Big blast of hops with each sip, mellow malt below, nice and toasty. Hop bitterness shines above it all, and delights even the most hardened hophead.
Nice one. Maintains a bitter hop edge, but cool, calm, & collected. Delicious.
trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA May 12, 2008 Massive IIPA. Pours orange-gold with a pillowy whyite head and thick lacing. Fresh, floral hops with a lot of mango and pineapple. Somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Hop-bomb of pineapple, grapefruit, more mango, and resin. Definite biscuit back with more sugar flavor than caramel. Loved it. BelgianBeerGal (1273), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 11, 2008 Bottled. Very nice golden caramel colour with a medium white head and sticky lacing. Very floral hop aroma, nice and not overwhelming. Surprisingly balanced flavour. The hops do not overpower the smooth malt. Very nice to drink and tough to believe the 95 IBU’s. I imagine this recipe will get better in time, but it’s good right now. FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA May 10, 2008 22oz bottle. Dark red-orange color with a medium sized rocky white head. Citric metallic hop aroma dominates, with vegetal and floral tones. Buttery caramel and apple malt flavors. Grassy, perfumey hop characters. Citric, acrid hop flavors in the finish, with a lingering maltiness. Mouthfeel is medium, slightly dry. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada May 9, 2008 Bomber, shared with Parksy. Hazy orange pour, vanilla head leaving thick ropy lace. Zesty citrus and sweet caramel malt, medium bodied, with a very long, very bitter finish. Terrific.
