Commercial Description:
Our latest Bond Street Series brew, Hop Henge, got bumped up to Imperial status this year. With a few more IBU’s than last year’s version, this IPA has a monumental amount of hops coming in just under the century mark for IBU’s. Two and one half pounds of Centennial, Cascade, and Northern Brewer hops are added, per beer barrel, and another half pound is used in the dry hopping process giving Hop Henge a whopping 95 IBU rate. A hearty malt bill, consisting of Crystal, Pale and Carastan malts, creates a biscuity note while building a dense base supporting the mammoth hop presence.

Amber in color with a decent white head that laces my pint glass and leaves that lovely sticky film. Aroma is hoppy but not at all piney or grassy. I have to disagree with the previous reviewer in that this doesn’t quite fit the bill of "West Coast IPA". Sure, it is hoppy (with a nice fruity flavor) but there is no citrus or pine flavor that always jumps out of the San Diego IPA’s. This is closer to an Inversion style IPA. Either way, this is an excellent value for $3.50 per bottle. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-29-2007 15:54:42

Bottle: Thanks to ramenen, drank at rcasta house watching NCAA F Ball. Strong hop flavor lack a bit of balance, some piney and citrus notes to offset acidity. Food pairing: Hearty cheeses.

Amber with a big and lasting white head. Fruity aroma with American hops and lots of alcohol. Sweet and malty flavour with fruity hops.

Bought somewhere in Vegas...
Poured out a thin off white head that leaves a hell of a lot of sticky lacing, brew is a hazy red amber. Smells pretty good albeit quite malty. The aroma is not the punch in the face that I wanted from this beer. Instead it is interesting just for being a bit different. Candy and citrus, mild biscuit malts that despite the mild taste are a dominating feature of the taste, some caramel, pine. nothing much... pretty subdued but enjoyable none the less. Tasty and easy to chug back and I’ve found biscuit and caramel dominating, some citrus (grapefruit, apricot and lychee, pineapple (maybe)), a bit syrupy, touch herbal but that is probably pine. Goes back smooth, leaves a nice residue in the mouth, ends mildy bitter for an IIPA. I bit disappointing I’ll have to admit.

Had it. Forgot it. Won’t buy it. Try it. Don’t remember anything but disappointment in how weak it was.

This beer was an reddish amber color. The aroma was malty with some hops showing through. It was not as bitter as I had expected but overall not bad.

Yet another beer smuggled back from Las Vegas in the bum of beercronic. Dark burnt orange body with a normal sized crown. The lacing on this is ridiculously sticky it’s just glued to the side of the glass. Nose is filled with chocolate, nuts and bitter hops, more of a malty smell in this compared to others I’ve had recently, I think the chocolate aroma is throwing me off. Piney bitter hops some random citrus and a big malty backbone. Caramel to a smooth roasted malts dominate the taste. More chocolate shows up toward end of glass. Very easy drinking IIPA but not the hop bomb I was hoping for. Yet another brew enjoyed in Gully’s basement."
