hillfiiiiire (283), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 18, 2008 Dark amber body with a nice head, and it just looks really tempting. However, the aroma’s a bit skunky with a hint of grassy hops. The flavor follows through with some grass hop character. However, it’s quite subdued. I’m afraid I may have got a hold of a bad bottle or simply an old one. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA Sep 16, 2008 Bottle from Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. Decent brew with a considerable amount of hops. A little blend of citrus and pine hops, but a little screwy on the palate. Not bad, would probably drink again. timfoolery (482), California, USA Sep 16, 2008 Bottle from Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. It was hoppy, but nothing like the droves of TIPA’s I’ve had. Malty, but it wasn’t very balanced. Misfire here. Sanchex (223), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 11, 2008 Not as much hoppiness as I was expecting although I might have had an LTS. Despite the apparent lack of hops, this is still a tasty brew. Mild hop aroma with hints of grapefruit and pine and a lingering sweet malt that is more present in the taste where the hops take a back seat. Surprisingly smooth and easy drinking. Cheers! anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Sep 6, 2008 Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear orange color with a small off-white head. Malty very hoppy grapefruit aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a long sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste. Nik925 (300), California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Great color, low head. Odd malt flavor...English? Strong hop aspect with bold bitter. Could be dryer, its a bit too sweet. Great spectrum of hop taste. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Thanks durhambeer for sharing. Poured a copper orange with a one finger creamy orange head. The nose was very hoppy. More of an herbal piny hop. Very fresh, some fruityness, caramel, sweet malt balance. The flavor was very earthy and herbal with the hops, lightly warming, after a while I found the malt presence in this to be especially balanced and gratifying. Very rounded well balanced DIPA. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle shared with emacgee. Bright amber pour with small but creamy off-white head. Not surprisingly, big hops on the nose -- grapefruit/citrus and spruce; but also some nice biscuity malt presence. A well-balanced IIPA.
