Commercial Description:
Our latest Bond Street Series brew, Hop Henge, got bumped up to Imperial status this year. With a few more IBU’s than last year’s version, this IPA has a monumental amount of hops coming in just under the century mark for IBU’s. Two and one half pounds of Centennial, Cascade, and Northern Brewer hops are added, per beer barrel, and another half pound is used in the dry hopping process giving Hop Henge a whopping 95 IBU rate. A hearty malt bill, consisting of Crystal, Pale and Carastan malts, creates a biscuity note while building a dense base supporting the mammoth hop presence.

Massive IIPA. Pours orange-gold with a pillowy whyite head and thick lacing. Fresh, floral hops with a lot of mango and pineapple. Somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Hop-bomb of pineapple, grapefruit, more mango, and resin. Definite biscuit back with more sugar flavor than caramel. Loved it.

On tap at Horse Brass. Pours a bright orangey with a thinner offwhite head. The nose is bright with sharp citrusy hops, orange as well. Lightly sweet, without any darker or even caramelly malt character. Clean and lovely. Lower in carbonation. A bit fuller than watery, drinkable. Flavors bright and sharp. Really clean hop bite, largely citrus. The sweetness is very light, the pale malt flavor is strong. The finish is clean. A bit creamy maybe. Reminds me of Moylander. Better than I think the average score suggests!

Bottle: Thanks to ramenen, drank at rcasta house watching NCAA F Ball. Strong hop flavor lack a bit of balance, some piney and citrus notes to offset acidity. Food pairing: Hearty cheeses.

bottle from southbay. Not impressed with this one. No hop aroma. Flavor is like a muted fresh hop pa. Drain pour.

Bottle from Lee’s. A clean but non-unique aroma of clear water and hops. Flavor of the same, with very faint not-quite ripe orange and apple notes.

22oz bottle. Dark red-orange color with a medium sized rocky white head. Citric metallic hop aroma dominates, with vegetal and floral tones. Buttery caramel and apple malt flavors. Grassy, perfumey hop characters. Citric, acrid hop flavors in the finish, with a lingering maltiness. Mouthfeel is medium, slightly dry.

650 ml bottle from SBD. Pours a rich copper color with a big off-white sudsy head that has good retention. The aroma is strong with citrus(mostly grapefruit), pine and caramel. The flavor is complex with biter hops in the forefront, some robust caramel and then a good citrus blast--Ripe oranges, tangerines, lemons and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is exceptionally long with biter hops giving way to caramel flavors. Overall: A winner of an IIPA, highly recommended.

Thanks to Tomdecapolis for sharing this... Appears a hazed light gold with a small, creamy cap that fades into a mild film with a small collar of fluff. Streaky remnants and spots are left around the glass. Smell is decent enough...containing notes of citrus, herbs, light pine, caramel, and candy. Taste is overly bitter and mouth puckering with absolutely zero balance going on here with the absence of a malt backbone. Lots of yeast and hops highlight with citrus and herbs standing out. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, gritty, lip smacking of bitterness.
