COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who knows what inspired the ancients to build Stonehenge--or what inspired us to build Hop Henge in its likeness. But build it we did, out of wrapped bales of whole-flower hops out on the brewery lawn. Like the rest of the Bond Street Series, Hop Henge highlights the creativity and curiousity of our brewers. Bolder than its English ancestors, with huge hops and a bitter finish, this IPA is no wallflower.

NOTE: This is the original version. In 2007 it was bumped up to an IIPA. See that entry here.

Dark amber color with a frothy 2 finger head, nice lacing.Great smell of cannabis bud tilled in a great Pacific NW Douglas Fir forest. Great taste starts with a caramel sweet maltiness followed by a juicy hop bud bitterness. Big malt and hop flavors here. 21406

A seasonal favorite of mine. Poured a deep ruby amber copper body with a mild creamy white head. Scent of sweet bouncing hops and IT quality malt balance. Sticky, piny, and full of grapefruit flavor. Palate bruising and I love it!

Thank God this is available again. Cloudy amber appearance with strong citrus aroma. Heavy on the palate with powerful citrus flavor and a fresh mouth feel that makes you want to drink a lot of it! In the past I have only had this in the bottle but It was one of the featured brews at our local Oktoberfest so I experienced it on tap this year. One of the very best IPA’s I have ever had.

Pours a cloudy brownish/red. The nose has a very strong scent of sweet ripe cherries. But the flavor is not so sweet. Slight bitter taste with a heavy, earthy, leafy tone. Definite influence from the mass of hops used to produce tis one. Overall it is good, rich and hearty.

Bottle from LarryPitonka trade prior to the ’06 Hard Liver. Fiery orange, slightly hazy, off-white frothy head, fades to film. Citrus zest and pine dominate aroma. The mor eit warms orange peel is even more evident. No malt to speak of. Flavor much the same, dominated by citrus zest, needs alot more malt to balance it out. Aroma carries this w/o a doubt. Well done.

This and The Abyss are Deschutes best IMO. This pours amber, nice frothy head. Flavors are citrusy grapefruit, lots of hops. Flavors are the same, perhaps with some orange peel, cream, grapefruit. Creamy refreshing mouthfeel. I can’t wait if they reinitiate this brew. Fantastic one.

A great hoppy IPA, unexpectedly hoppy. A hop combination that gives off an explosive aroma. A heavy full body that comes with imperial IPA’s and a creamy brownish, orange color that had a heavy tinted off-white head. A great IPA.

A beautiful orange color with a creamy beige head, plenty of lacing left on the sides of the glass. Nice hop nose, not overpowering but certainly the featured scent. Apricot and sweet malts also noticeable. Sweet citrus with stone fruit pits, plenty of astringent pine hops follow. A dry bitter aftertaste leaves you wanting for more. A surprisingly easy to drink 7% IPA. I think it was BuckDich I got this from, thanks bro!

Tap at Kahootz: Total murky light brown/copper color with a nice, fine white head and clingy lacing. Hoppy aromas and flavors abound making this a great go to IPA. Delightful - I enjoyed two pints!

22oz bomber, purchased at a Bodega in SF. Pours amber with a big white head. The aroma is big and hoppy which matches the taste, sweeter than strong. Decent IPA.
