3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (10407) - Como, ITALY - AUG 25, 2011
Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver, 6.9% ABV, bb 12/30/11 Black color, with brownish creamy head. The pungent resiny hop aroma is evident from the moment that the bottle is opened; followed by roasted malts, dark chocolate and some cream. Dry and lean mouthfeel; roasted malt flavor, a bit ashy, with coffee; good but after the aroma some more depth was expected; very strong bitterness, but without special hop qualities, just a lot of resins blending with the bitter roastiness. Good but not special.

Near black with a big, thick head. Rich chocolatey nose with big c-hop woody and citrus notes. Very appetizing to me. Toasty, with lots of fruit and wood. Pretty strong. Quite good balance. Very functional.
