Commercial Description:
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

22 oz bottle. Copper amber color with almost no head. Not a big release when the bottle was opened. Smell is sharp, malty. Mellow taste, not overly sweet or sharp. Tastes fresh, clean. I keep trying to get a specific taste or sensation to jump out, but it’s all understated and subtle. Subtle is the key word I think. Good beer.

Pours a nice light copper, with a light tan head that leaves a nice rim and moderate lacing. Aroma of floral sweetness with notes of hops. Flavor of subtle grapefruit and sweet, piney hops. I have to say that this outing was not as big and hoppy as the Port Brewing offering, that being said, it is still an excellent fresh hop brew.

the proper glass: hazy copper-yellow body, orange-yellow highlight, moderate lacing, somewhat rocky light tan head that slowly diminishes into soapiness; bitter primarily, some sweet malt backing of course--perfume, apple, grapefruit, toffee; somewhat spiky palate, but altogether smooth and slippy; very good; this looks, tastes, and feels like a superior beer to me, but for whatever reason the aroma is not quite there.

Bomber from the Bier Stein. Pours the exact color of apple juice with a very sizable white head which evaporates super slowly and leaves a ton of lacing. Scent is heavily floral and the taste is piney with a bit of a soapy aftertaste. Highly sessionable ale from one of my favorite breweries.

Draft at McMennimans. Not super hoppy, somewhat piney sweet hop character. alittle funny tasting up front then trails with a mellow hop flavor. Overall good body. Another ’’fresh hop beer’’ that i feel falls short of expectations.

Pours an amber orange with a good size foamy off white head. Aroma of pine, hops, malt. Flavor is citrusy fresh oily resinous piney hops balanced out with just enough malt and a touch of caramnel. Not super hoppy but the hop flavors and aromas are very fresh and refreshing. Good brew.

pure shiny bronze with long lasting sudzy lacey off-white head. nose has notes of potrouli, and a spicy somewhat piney sweet hop character. spicry, earthy hop flavors on a pretty light body, but as light as it is, the spicy hop flavors are there in full delicate force. bitterness is really tame here but hop flavors are everywhere...quite interesting, actually. certainly a great session beer.

Bottle acquired via trade with explosivebeer...THANKS BRANDON!!! Bright, almost glowing sunset color with a 1/2 inch vanilla head. Very floral aroma, malty with caramel balancing out the pine. Very fresh/clean flavor...not the hop-bomb that other’s have become but extremely enjoyable. Brandon, thanks for gettin’ this one for me!!!
