Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Very smooth, not overly hoppy. Easy to drink with a crisp finish. Hop character is mostly citrus in nature, but a hint of pine & herbs.

Fresh 2011 A: copper ale with excellent clarity and a finger of off-white foam which falls to a sheet of the same. Rings of lace. S: aw, smells soo good. Sweet floral hops are citric and somewhat piney. T: nice and balanced pale ale with a healthy hop addition and a sweet biscuity malt backbone. Good shit. M: medium bodied and moderate carb. Semi dry finish. O: yummy! Good beer. The heirloom hops are different and delicious. Serving type: on-tap 10-08-2011

Tap. Pours orange with white head. Lots of grapefruit, pine and orange hops. Dank, not bitter, citrusy and dry. Really solid.

On tap at the Map Room, Chicago. Slightly hazy dark orange, white head. Juicy fruity hop aroma. Taste has those same juicy fruity hops, and is sweet with a moderately bitter finish. Medium body. Tasty pale ale!

A nose of pine and tropical fruit and maybe smattering of citrus. A white ring resides above a slightly hazy copper pour with moderate lacing appearing as the glass is empted. The taste is a well crafted balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness, with the hops slightly tipping the scales in their favor. Pine, tropical fruit, malts, with a satisfying bready finish and bitter aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, this is one of the most satisfying Pale Ales I ever had. Well done Deschutes! I look forward to consuming many more in the future.

All the things that make a fresh hopped beer great are here. Love the drinkability and refreshing citrus on the palate. Good stuff

Location: Draft at the Hay Merchant, 12/10/13

Aroma: The nose is clean hops, citrus, plenty of caramel malts, some grass and pine notes
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber color with a frothy off-white head and decent lace
Flavor: The taste is light-medium sweet, with caramel and fruit, and a medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean, easy drinking feel, and a smooth, dryish finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was a plenty solid fresh hop APA. It made for an enjoyable beer. It is easy drinking and tasty. What else can I say? Close enough ABV-wise for me to call it sessionable. Drink it and enjoy it.

Poured from the bottle a beautiful amber with an off-white head. The aroma is citrus and floral. Nice flavor, slight malty sweetness with a hoppiness that is very nice. This seems to be the little brother of the Hop Henge. Nice brew.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2014 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: pours a nice clear amber, average frothy white head. Aroma: Hoppiness is evident, grassy to resiny scent. Taste: I would say it has a hint of sweetness initially, breaking off into a medium hoppiness. Palate: medium body and wet sensation. Relatively soft carbonation. My new favorite Deschutes beer.
