COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers’ farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Cloudy appearance. Thick, frothy head. Good lacing. Very sweet hoppy aroma. Citrusy. Orange. It smells of fresh hops. Citrusy hoppy finish. Sticky mouthfeel. Salty. Almost dry tasting. Soft carbonation. Not a bad beer just do not see as a beer i would purchase very often.

12oz bottle. bB date of 12/27/15. Appearance: Clear amber deep Amber with a touch of orange, medium khaki foam head. Aroma: Faint grassy citrus. Hop aroma is minimal, obviously not at optimal freshness. Taste: Light caramel with strong toasted malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness that tends to have more tropical fruit notes than other fresh hop beers that are especially resinous and grassy. Overall hop flavor is more subdued than others. Mouthfeel: Medium body with some creaminess and light to moderate carbonation. Finish: Lingering resin and grass, with a touch of toasted malt. Overall: This was on the low end of fresh/wet hopped ales I’ve had, but likely because it wasn’t at optimal freshness. Aroma was minimal, and hop flavor was lacking and dull. Not impressed but will give a fresher example a shot next year.

Enjoyed at Naja’s place in redondo beach, LA. A well balanced beer; a great one to start off with. Deepish red pour. Great flavourful hoppyness and a solid caramel malt backbone. Nice bittersweet finish

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a huge billowy head of white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading to leave tons of foamy lace clinging on the sides of the glass. Smell – The beer has a big nose of a citrus hop smell mixed with some nice smells of sweeter citrus of tangerine and a decent showing of a tropical fruit smell of papaya and pineapple. Along with these aromas comes some light grassy smells and a little bit of a grassy smell. Taste – The taste begins as the nose would have predicted, with a nice showing of a citrus grapefruit hop. Along with this flavor, is some lighter sweet tastes of a tangerine and tropical nature. The sweeter fruit tastes grow slightly stronger to the middle of the taste only to fade again later at the end, creating a slightly more crisp flavor profile. With some other hop flavors of a grassy and earthy flavor coming toward the middle and the end of the taste, and with the drying out of the taste throughout, one is left with a nicely hopped and moderately crisp and enjoyable hop blended flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. For the mix of citrus hop and slightly thinner body at the end of the taste, the mouthfeel is rather nice, as it upholds all the nice flavors of the brew all while keeping the beer crisp and refreshing. Overall – This was a very enjoyable brew overall. Crisp and hop flavorful with a nice clean and enjoyable flavor profile. Another nice one in the Bond Street Series by Deschutes.

12oz bottle from Bottles & Cans. 12/26/15 "best by" date. Coppery orange pour with almost no head leaving a few spots of lace. Aroma has pine, spices, some citrus and other fruits plus some caramel. Taste is of sweet fruits, caramel, pine, some simple sugar and chewy resin. Medium bodied. Finishes quite sweetly. To the honor of the cascade hop, but also with too much residual sweetness so it gets cloying. 13.2
