Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

I really like this pale. Itís easy to drink and the hop character for both the aroma and taste are nice. The aroma is a little subtle but you can tell there is a nice combination of hops and malt. Taste is great with plenty of sweet faintly caramel malts that is accented by a citrusy--but balanced hop note. Finish is nice and refreshing. I like a little more aroma in my beers but this is really good all around.

Hazy orange with a 1 finger foamy head, mild carbonation and good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, grassiness, lemon zest and toffee. Flavor of piney & citrus hops, lemon zest, toffee and a resiny aftertaste. Heavy body and heavy carbonation. Itís alright!

A hazy red-orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is piney hops and citrus. The flavor is citrus, pine, and a good amount of sweet maltiness.

12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy copper with orange hues. Aroma of citrus, caramel, pine. Flavor of pine, citrus, resin, hay. A hoppy APA that skews to the piney, bitter hops side.

Nice amber color when poured from a bottle into a spiegelau IPA glass. Thick persistent head with rich lacing. Nose is hoppy but not overly so. Flavor has very clear citrus notes with a slight pine. Very nice all in all, but unremarkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very smooth, not overly hoppy. Easy to drink with a crisp finish. Hop character is mostly citrus in nature, but a hint of pine & herbs.

Fresh 2011 A: copper ale with excellent clarity and a finger of off-white foam which falls to a sheet of the same. Rings of lace. S: aw, smells soo good. Sweet floral hops are citric and somewhat piney. T: nice and balanced pale ale with a healthy hop addition and a sweet biscuity malt backbone. Good shit. M: medium bodied and moderate carb. Semi dry finish. O: yummy! Good beer. The heirloom hops are different and delicious. Serving type: on-tap 10-08-2011
