3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: Draft at the Hay Merchant, 12/10/13
Aroma: The nose is clean hops, citrus, plenty of caramel malts, some grass and pine notes
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber color with a frothy off-white head and decent lace
Flavor: The taste is light-medium sweet, with caramel and fruit, and a medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean, easy drinking feel, and a smooth, dryish finish
I thought this one was a plenty solid fresh hop APA. It made for an enjoyable beer. It is easy drinking and tasty. What else can I say? Close enough ABV-wise for me to call it sessionable. Drink it and enjoy it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the bottle a beautiful amber with an off-white head. The aroma is citrus and floral. Nice flavor, slight malty sweetness with a hoppiness that is very nice. This seems to be the little brother of the Hop Henge. Nice brew.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2014 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: pours a nice clear amber, average frothy white head. Aroma: Hoppiness is evident, grassy to resiny scent. Taste: I would say it has a hint of sweetness initially, breaking off into a medium hoppiness. Palate: medium body and wet sensation. Relatively soft carbonation. My new favorite Deschutes beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma has tropical fruit and peach in it. Flavor is sweet malty, a good dose of hop flavor up front, then pine and fruitiness on the end--mango and peach as well as some pine. But not too sweet--lots of fruit flavor but nicely balanced with bitterness. Good beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle (best by 12/24/13) courtesy of peterhazelton. Pours a hazy burnt orange color with a small foamy off white head. Aroma of fresh citrus hops, grapefruit skins, celery, and caramel malt. Taste is yeasty, with notes of rotted citrus, caramel, grapefruit, and pine. Might have been better a little fresher.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. A reddish hue is apparent from the get go as this one seems nearly copper colored. There is a thin light khaki head. A nice sweet orange rind nose on top with notes of toasted almonds. There is also caramel sweetness. This is relatively sweet with some nice tangerine citrus. The finish has peanuts and a little caramel. Nicely balanced and smooth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: grassy hops, tropical fruit, yeasty pizza crust. Appearance: reddish gold body with a very foamy white head. Two fingers of head on this one. Decent carbo bubble action. Taste: Spicy/earthy and bitter flavors battle it out. Little sweetness there somewhere. Finishes hard and bitter. Palate: dry and crisp. Oily mouth feel. Good shit, for the most part. Flavors aren’t too pronounced or associable with any particular foodstuffs, but still a delicious IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a rusty amber with a sticky beige head. Aroma gives you malt sweetness plus a nice blast of the piney citrus you want from a fresh hop. Taste is a bit on the sweet side but showcases the hops quite well. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a long finish. Very good for a 5.4% shelfie, at $10 a sixer I am quite pleased with this.
