COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Part of the Bond Street Series. This Fresh Hop Pale Ale is all about celebrating the hop harvest in the fall. Fresh picked hops have to be added to the brew immediately and in abundance. Roughly 270 pounds of Crystal hops from Doug Weathers' farm outside Salem, Oregon will be added to the 50 barrel batch in addition to some dry kilned whole flower hops. That adds up to approximately 5.5 pounds of hops per barrel brewed.

Slightly hazy dark orange pour with long-lasting off-white head. Aroma is mostly floral and citrus hops with some bready maltiness present as well. Taste is citrus hops with some fruitiness and bready malts. Mouthfeel is just a tad oily throughout. Overall, a fairly tasty and easy-drinking APA.

Pours dark orange/brown color with a nice head that gradually dissipated. Fresh hoppy aroma. Nice malty taste and crisp hoppy finish. A well balanced delicious beer.

Bottle from Liquor Collection 261114. Pours a very deep orange colour with a scattering of foam across the top. The first thing that hits you is a burst of piney hop aromas. Big bodied bug not overly hoppy which I like in a beer.

Bottle. Poura deep amber color. Medium off white head ends in thin film with nice rings of lacing. Aroma is pretty mild with hops and pine. Tastes of earthy hops & caramel malt sweetness. A nice amount of bitterness lingers. Medium body and carbonation. A pretty solid APA ... that seems to be an IPA.

Pours a cloudy orange with a beige head. Aroma is malt, fruit, citrus and hops. Taste is sweetish of fruit leading to a hoppy finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pretty solid all rounder this. Nothing extraordinary but it goes down easy. Nice fresh citrus and juicy sweet fruit focus throughout. Nice stuff

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a deep golden with a firm white head. Nose has grapefruit and mango with some zest as well. Taste is zesty grapefruit and that flows. Hint of toffee sweetness. Pretty balanced. Pretty decent pale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a copper color with a firm head that fades to nice lacing. Aroma of hops, malt and bit of caramel. Taste of citrus, malt and caramel sweetness. Solid bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, crisp with a robust feel. Enjoyable beer with a West Coast flair.

HOPPY. Very hoppy. Tons of just delicious fresh citrusy bright hopes. Incredible. Is it a Pale Ale or an IPA? Doesn’t even matter here. It’s just a brilliantly hoppy beer. The hops are all that matters and they are just in your face. The taste is just juicy citrusy fresh hops. Exactly what they say it is. Definitely my favorite among these fresh hop beers that come out around this time. Definitely try this one. Cheers!

Pours a cloudy dark amber with a fine off white head. Nose is subdued but nice. I get some mango, grapefruit zest, a little dank caramel. Flavor is similarly restrained, but shows impeccable balance. I get some really juicy mango and guava flavors on the attack, followed by some lime and grapefruit on the mid palate, along with some candy orange. The finish is long and evolves. It starts bitter with a grapefruit peel flavor, but then mellows into a slightly toasty, slightly spicy biscuity flavor. The aroma though nice, isn’t really a smack in the face. However the flavor is really wonderful, nuanced, balanced and complex. Slightly syrupy body which I wouldn’t have expected for a 5.5% beer. Really worth drinking.

Deschutes beers are hit or miss with me. This one was a miss. Great aroma and appearance, but lacks body and really tasted watered-down. Surprised by the high score as this one really did not do it for me as far as pale ales go.
