Commercial Description:
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

An amber colored beer with a small head. The aroma is a nice balance of malt & hops. The taste is the same as the aroma while noting this is not a hop bomb but a more balanced IPA between malt & hops that has a dry ending & good lacing.

12 oz. Bottle. Pours pale/amber and clear with little to no froth. Smells of citrus, resin and lemons. A moderate bitterness is present during the swallow, the finish is fizzy and thin but very tasteful. The perfect IPA, the taste is complex and diverse. High recommendation.

12oz bottle, purchased at Booze Bros. Pours a clear, bright orange-amber color; a thin off-white head with patchy lacing. Lots of overt candy sugar and crystal malts in the aroma; sweet, too much crystal. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: good amounts of earthy and citrus bitterness upfront; solid carbonation, decent presence in the mouth; nicely juicy hop presence, but the crystal malt focus and overt tea-like malts end up carrying this down in the end; disappointing. Lengthy finish: sweet candy sugar, lots of earthy hops, and the crystal malts finally fall away here to a nice lasting, toasty bitterness.

Bottle. Hoppy aroma with caramel, tobacco and pine. Big hop flavor, lots of caramel, with tobacco, citrus, pine and some passion fruit. A very good IPA.

Bottle from the great ditmier. Pours a dark orange almost amber color with a decently lasting off white head. Aromas of sticky resin pine and a little caramel. Incredibly full bodied for a straight ipa and the pine hop flavors are sick. The finish is a slightly alcoholic bitterness but just the right amount to make it interesting. Really good straight up IPA.

Thanks to Ditmeir for the bottle. Dark copper pour with a thick off white head. Big hop aroma, lots of Cascade style citrus. Nice malt body with a great citrus hop bitterness. Damn good IPA.

Ah, I knew I was in heaven when I was able to sample 5 different IPAs at the brewpub. This was the first - a lovely citrus and floral IPA that screamed northwest. Balanced beer with a sweet malt middle and dry bitter finish. I could drink a ton of this beer.
