COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 80

Light amber pour with moderate foamy off-white head. Grapefruit and pine aroma with some light caramel malt presence. Taste is a fairly nice blend of resiny pine, light grapefruit and some sweeter malts making their way through. Overall, a pretty mainstream IPA but still quite drinkable.

Pour a amber color with little to no head. The nose has a piney, floral and hoppy aroma. The flavor is super piney with hints of bitter grapefruit. The finishes is quite bitter. Not my favorite IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good color and light brown head. Mild hop aroma. The flavor has a very unique blend of hops that starts with a floral/cirtrus/herb flavor and ends in bitterness

Draft. Pours a clear amber, smallish head with white head and lace. Good balance of mild hops and biscuity malts. Taste is same with citrus hops. Good offering, but more pedestrian than deschutes other offerings.

12 ounce bottle. Aroma of citrus, pine caramel, and resin. The taste is similar with big American hops. The caramel malt sweetness detracts from this beer. Not bad, but Deschutes makers far better then this.

12 oz bottle. Pours a translucent copper color with a small off-white head that quickly recedes to a fine film. The aroma is mild with soft resins, pine and sweet malts. The taste is similar to the nose; mild pine, resins, and grapefruit set in a caramel malt base. The palate is medium with lively carbonation. Finishes long with lingering bitter pine. Overall: This was probably a cutting edge IPA many years ago, but now it just tastes like a (good) pale ale. Compares to SNPA.
