DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada May 8, 2008 Bright amber, leaning toward orange, big vanilla head. Sweet caramel malt with a load of fruity hop character (tangerine, lychee), and a long bitter finish. Deeeelish! malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA May 7, 2008 On tap at Papago. Clear copper with lasting fluffy head and lotsa lace. Citrusy hop aroma. Medium fruity caramel sweetness and medium bitter finish. Smooth and fairly complex and satisfying. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA May 6, 2008 Thanks to FlacoAlto for the bottle (12oz). Clear orange color with a medium head. Has a best by date of 6/26/08, and if it hadn’t been for that fact, I would have thought it was a little old. The caramel outshines everything here. I don’t get any of the citrus alluded to in the Commercial Description. Just a little floral hops with a huge bitter finish. CaptAnkeny (14), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 3, 2008 A very hoppy, tasty West Coast IPA, my favorite type. One of the better, if not the best IPA, available in a bottle in Las Vegas.
Plenty of kick and fruity/Hoppy after-taste.
Very enjoyable. Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 2, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet grassy and grapefruity. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of hops lending it notes of grass and grapefruits, the grapefruit also gives it a slight acidity, before the dry bitter finish sets in. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 29, 2008 Pretty decent for the style. Has some biscuity maltiness and bit of marmalade apricot type fruitiness, zesty bitterness, would make a decent session IPA. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Apr 25, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a thick off-white head that left nice lacing. Aroma of citrus (orange and light grapefruit), and some light leafy, grassy hops. Flavor consists of sweet caramel malt leading into some lightly bitter, earthy hops with a light hint of fruit (apricot) on the finish. Much less citrus in the flavor than in the nose. Solid IPA, but nothing special. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 20, 2008 12oz bottle Pours out a nice IPA amber topped with a cream white head. A nice crisp aroma of hops and light malt. Tast of nice bitter hops. A very nice everyday drinking IPA.
