Commercial Description:
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

Pours a hazy orangy amber color with a medium white head. The aroma has nice spicy and resinous hops, the malt presence annouces that it won’t let the hops steal the whole show in the mouth. As advertised there’s a good flavor of spicy, resinous hops, the hops are well balance by a stout malt backbone, it finishes bitter. This IPA doesn’t have anything special but it’s pleasant and easy to drink. Thanks Goldorak!

Bottle - Poured a cloudy darkish amber in color with an almost non-existent white head and fairly low carbonation. Aroma is medium of citrus/grapefruit hops and has a sweet malty "cast" to it. Flavor is also medium of hops and quite bitter. Some malty sweetness also present. Finish is clean and the bitterness lasts for a while. A decent IPA, but far from the best that I have had. Well worth having again...

Standard. Clean, crisp, nothing special. Can be cheap though - which does have virtues.

A hazed amber/orange pour with an off white head. An arona of mild citrus hops. A slight sweetness on th front followed by a very hard bitter that is pleasant. Good carbonation but a bit thin on the palate. A good drinker all over nothing bad but just a little short all round.

Great IPA, good balance, could be a bit hoppier/bitter though. Excellent beer from Deschutes

Bottled. Nice caramel sweet aroma. Malty, rich. Fresh hoppy grassy note, with light citrus. Floral, quite mild. Deep amber orange clear, with some small floaties. Lacing foamy off-white head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with mild roasted grain and light brown sugar sweetness. Rather dry, with medium fruity bitterness. Bitter notes deepen as the malts rinse away. Thin watery bitter finish, and dry chalky, almost harsh, after.

On tap at Stone. Orange with creamy white head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Pine and citrus taste with a good bitter bite to the finish.

Golden colored pour with medium sized head. Hoppy, citrus aroma with a hoppy bitter kick. Too hoppy for me.
