evergreen0199 (259), London, Greater London, England Aug 17, 2009 Bottle. An amber coloured pour with a slight head. Hoppy, fruity aroma. Hoppy, fruity, slight caramel, a little bitter, some pine. Reasonably good IPA. greig (169), Hamilton, New Zealand Aug 15, 2009 Second taste of this for me, decided it was time to rate it. For a beer which doesn’t get raved about, it really is a fabulously hoppy beast. Citrus and pine are to the fore, but a searing bitter finish. The malt is no slouch either, with some nice baked bread character, and some fruity esters round out a great beer. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Aug 5, 2009 bottle thanks to cavie. poured reddish amber with a white head and some nice lace was left behind. aroma was caramel, citrus, and peach. flavor was caramel, citrus, and pine. ghawener (953), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 2, 2009 Bottle: Pour looks look, red-orange IPA look. Aroma is mellow but clearly hoppy. Has bubble gum, sweetness, herbal and fruity. I really can´t say it better than: After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Food Pairing: Spicy seafood, shrimp, crabs. brenn79 (140), Idaho, USA Aug 1, 2009 bottle-deep amber color, little head.First taste-spice flavor, different than most IPA’s. half point-Little to no head left, flavors are holding up nicely. finish-This beer grew on me as it warmed, it’s complex, new flavors you dont normally find in an IPA, and i give this brew props for trying something new. Overall i was impressed with the complexity, but i like my IPA’s more traditionally. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 30, 2009 Bottle 35,5 cl. Clear amber golden with a dense yellowish head. Fresh peachy hop aroma. Medium body, some caramel and a fairly hoppy and somewhat leathery finish. 100709 ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jul 29, 2009 Pale amber with a lasting off-white head. Strong pine and grass hop aroma. Sweet caramel and hop flavour with a bitter finish Tweety (337), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jul 28, 2009 A solid, if not spectacular, IPA. Not a bad beer, although a little too strong to be reasonably sessioned.
