Commercial Description:
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

I feel a little bit lonely... While I have enjoyed the other Deschutes brews I have tried, this one dissapointed me. I love the citrusy hop aspect, but too much caramel flavor can really throw me off. Possibly I just got my hands on a bad sixer, but the sweet caramel flavor was a little too overbearing - not very well balanced. As far as appearance, aroma and palate, this is a wonderful beer.

One of my favorite all-around IPAs. Very rich, with a thick malt body giving way to layers of grapefruit and pine resin. Very satisfying, well balanced, and delicious.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful cloudy gold, with some red an yellow play in the light. Head is about 2 inches and cream colored, pretty dense, takes awhile to dissipate. Good lacing on surface and on sides of glass. Nose is strong citrus and hops, the citrus is almost too strong. Tastes is of citrus and hops. The bitterness and acidity are balanced well. Has a pretty clean finish with a bit of alcoholic bite, and a very nice mouthfeel for an IPA. Deschutes makes great beers.

Bottled. My bro has been hip to this beer for awhile and I simply had not found it....so when i saw it, of course I bought one (didn’t want to buy a 6 of it at the time) now I will. This is a nice IPA bordering on the creamy texture of a DIPA. There is a good amount of malt on the finish as well.

12 oz bottle courtesy of kenb. Thanks! Pours a dark, cloudy orange, with 2 fingers of bubbly, almost white head. Citrusy notes. Tastes of citrus as well, but this seems to have a little bigger of a mouthfeel than typical ipa’s, which i’m likin alot. Good malts with a solid hop backbone. Very nice IPA.

what a great beer! I love all of the deschutes beers, and this one did not diasappoint. Got it while I was visiting back home and wish that they sold this in Ohio. Flavor was what you’d expect from an I.P.A Hops, Hops and more Hops.

Golden brown with a modest, offwhite head. Hoppy aroma. Wow, no balance here... Hops all the way. Opens with hops flavor, finishes with hops bitterness. Lingering bitter aftertaste. There is some underlying malty sweetness. Full bodied. Excellent. Top-notch American IPA. Hoppy but not too hoppy.
