Commercial Description:
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

Pretty red pour. Clear and nice. Rich sweet notes on the nose. Slightly sour and tart. Big taste of raisin. Dry bitter flavor. Less amounts of hops than fruit.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, light caramel, slight toasting, a hint of bready malts. Poured orange/amber in color with a small, off-white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Small lacing. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, pale malts, slight pine, toasting, and a hint of citrus. Medium body. Oily texture. Soft to average carbonation. Hoppy, light malt finish is lightly bitter.

Poured from Bottle into Pint glass. Pours a clear copper color with a finger of creamy off-white head that eventually develops into a nice layer atop the glass. The nose is filled with mostly citrus and piney hops with some sweet malt aromas. The flavor is bitter hops upfront with some malt and finishes sweet and strongly bitter with a slightly dry finish. The body is medium with a nice amount of carbonation. This is a good beer although it does come across a little hot.

Thick tan head and clear red orange color. Aroma of floral and citrus hops. Medium body with moderate body. Flavor is almost overwhelmed by bitter hops almost to the point of harshness. Caramel malts also. Very refreshing though. Full lasting creamy bitter finish.

For some reason I just really, really like this beer. Started with a foamy white head, slight in size, above a body of brilliant and clear dark amber. Hops a plenty in the aroma, and a pleasure it was to inhale this heavenly scent. Taste was marvellously hopped and bitter without being crazy, accompanied by a slightly ’sharp’ mouthfeel. Finished smooth.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trtade with ditmier. Pours a hazy golden amber with a large off-white head that lasted through mid-glass and laced the glass from top to bottom. Very bright aroma of fresh grapefruit with a few caramel notes as well. The flavor is less fruity and concentrates more on the bitterness. Decent caramel backbone. Bitter finish that does not linger.

Pours clear orange-amber, with a medium-thin beige head, very fine, lasting lacing. Grapefruit, pine, apricot, and caramel aromas. Medium body, velvety and mildly dry. Flavors of grass, pine, with more apricot. The hops character is fairly subtle and complex. The Medium-strong bitter finish.
