Enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads.

courtesy of goodzoid10. pours copper with tan / beige head with some excellent lacing. Aroma has a good kick of floral hops, and slight fruity undertones. Taste is hoppy with light bitter finish and notes of fruits - grapefruit / strawberry. Leaves a nice velvety, almost syrupy lingering feel. Overall, a well balanced beer with nice use of light caramel malts.

I’m a sucker for heavily hopped American IPA and this one is in my favorite style. Heavily hopped in the nose and the taste, with a long bitter finish. Hops are bitter and citric, like a serious slam of grapefruit rind. Balanced with sweet malts. Reminds me of a Double Dead Guy, but with bonus points for being what is now considered low-to-moderate alcohol levels in a super-bitter IPA.

Bottle, seemingly a bit old. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, mango, melon, caramelized brown sugar. Flavor shows the hops a bit more with the mango and some fruity, berry qualities. A bit harsh on the tongue. Some good qualities, some less.

12 oz bottle. Poured a slightly cloudy orange color with a two finger white head. Aroma was malty with a citrus note. Flavor was malty with a serious bitter bite. Good beer.

Bottle. Pours a deep cloudy orange with a small foamy white head. Aroma is quite malty with raisins and slight bitter hops. Flavor is sweet and malty with floral hops in the finish. Harsh palate. Too malty for an IPA. 6/4/6/3/14 (3.3/5)

Beer pours copper with a slight white head and slight haze. Beer has a citrusy grapefruit hop aroma. Beer flavor has an excellent hop flavor that hangs on the palate throughout the swallow. There is a slight indication of malt presence, but very minor. Palate is very nice without having too much stickyness or dryness. Overall beer is a nice IPA and I would definatley have this again.

12 oz. best before Feb 24, 2009 sent as a bonus to me by acrdz. Pours a good looking hazy red hue with a well formed tan head. The hop definition on the nose is superb. It isn’t obnoxious, but an assertive, juicy, bittersweet grapefruit character is well imparted. A sweet caramel note is also present. The flavor delivers more bitterness than I thought and it’s so well portrayed in its clarity and cleanliness. Great citrus notes abound with a semi sweet, sticky malt body, and a dry, pitty finish. Flavors of berries and wood are also hinted at. This is a really good IPA.

6 pack best before April 6, 2014. this is a rather dark IPA, pours deep red and cloudy. The aroma is decently hoppy with pine and grass. I wouldn’t say that it packs "the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop" per se. The palate is medium and the flavor is very well balanced. There is a decent dry, bitterness that has notes of wood, pine, grass, and not really a whole lot of citrus. This is a solid, balanced, clean IPA but doesn’t have that rich deep hoppiness I look for from American examples of the style.

Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Nose is grapefruit, pine, citrus, touch of caramel. Initial taste of fruits, caramel, citrus. Mid palate to finish is medium hop balance with rhine bitterness. Flavor is rather poor, mouthfeel is too thin and oily. Balancing is slightly off. Good head retention and some spot lacing of the glass. Palate is average. Overall nothing special.

Draft @ Bond Street Brewpub, Bend OR. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy pine needles aroma. Malty hoppy bitter flavor with hints of citrus and pine needles. Has a dry malty hoppy bitter finish with hints of citrus in the aftertaste.

This one is malty like a MW IPA. Has that caramel malt profile that hits the back of your tongue. Too much diactyl and this would be a diactyl bomb, but it does not have any of that. Despite the caramel presence, this is a fairly dry IPA, even though the smell is very sweet. The hops are not too present in this one, though. Lacing is very nice. This one has a very citrusey finish. Aftertaste is a nice thick palate.
