Nebulor (109), , California, USA Feb 24, 2009 Lots of caramel, and some pine and grapefruit aromas.
Poured an amber color with a copper hue and a sticky off white head.
A lot of caramel with sweet English Tea and has some grapfruit and alcohol taste throughout.
Medium bodied, resinous, with lively soft carbonation.
Decent for a session starter or an inline session beer, for me. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Feb 21, 2009 Nice, classic northwest IPA. Sweet aroma with a rich, creamy hop flavor. Dry, bitter finish. captaincass (45), Everson, Washington, USA Feb 18, 2009 Updated: Aug 27, 2009smells pretty carmelly and grapefruity from the hops. pours pretty dark for an ipa. tastes a little too much malt but has a nice hoppy finish. drjay44 (757), Salida, Colorado, USA Feb 14, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick head of poor duration with heavy lacing over a clear amber body....nose is grapefruit, resin.....tastes initially of slightly sweet malts, followed by increasing hop bitterness, citrus in tones, finish is dry with lingering moderate to heavy bitterness. Mouthfeel is good, with nice carbonation. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2009 Bottle at casino steakhouse in Las Vegas.
Poured clear copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and flat carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration.
This is a solid drinkable brew. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Feb 3, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Lots of sweet malts in this one, and subtle hoppiness on the nose. Flavor is also sweet, but a solid bittering hop finish makes this a pretty decent IPA. And it made Jakebra sing. Plamadude30k (122), Tucson, Arizona, USA Jan 29, 2009 Reddish copper with a yellowish foamy head. Very hoppy with a great backing of grapefruit, making it rather bitter. I find it is more enjoyable very cold and in a cold glass. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Jan 19, 2009 Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is pretty much evenly matched between caramel and a very nice grapefruit hop note. Hoppy flavoring with a nice citrus presence and very little malt. Tasty little brew, very easy going for a west coast IPA.
