jasonp (1423), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Jan 29, 2008 Purchased at a convenience store on Haight St, June 2007. Pours a beautiful clear red with a thick manilla head. Soft caramel, earthy floral hop notes - kind of subtle. Very caramel/toasted malt-heavy up front, toffee-bread, then earthy hops and pleny of resinous bitterness; light apple. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Kind of a Brit-style IPA.
desurfer (1023), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a medium amber with a medium off-white head. Hoppy, flowery aroma. Earthy grapefruit and pine hops dominate the flavor, balanced by rich caramely malts. Super drinkable, tasty IPA. douglas88 (585), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle bought in Jackson, Wyoming. Pours a clear amber with a medium white head that dies down. The aroma is tons of malt and some floral and citrus hops. The taste is quite bitter, hops mixed with a rich caramel and smooth malt. Very nice finish that is sweet and lingers bitterness on your palate. A very enjoyable IPA. Enniskillen (1495), Port Angeles, Washington, USA Jun 22, 2008 Amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is a caramel maltiness with a subdued northwest hoppy character. Taste is an initial sweetness followed by the maltiness, and a slight almond like character. leaparsons (3776), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jun 17, 2008 Bottle. Beers of the World Live, NEC. Golden with a small head. Aromas are peppery wit pine and herbal notes. Warming alcohol. Quite low malts. Flavours are light malts with bitter green pine. Floral and peppery with evident alcohol. FlyingSwine (92), Colorado, USA Jun 13, 2008 Absolutely beautiful looking beer. Pours a dark, cloudy crimson, with a respectable head. Aroma is typical of NW IPAs. Flavor is heavilly hoppy and way too bitter for my tongue. Palate is slightly fizzy, and really dry. Overall this one isn’t my cup of tea.
