CaptAnkeny (13), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 3, 2008 A very hoppy, tasty West Coast IPA, my favorite type. One of the better, if not the best IPA, available in a bottle in Las Vegas.
Plenty of kick and fruity/Hoppy after-taste.
Very enjoyable.
Whorst (7), Huntington Beach, California, USA does not count Sep 5, 2008 Unusual, and off balance. The malts don’t work for me. There’s an astringent, charcoal like bitterness that I can’t stand. tangentrider (144), USA Sep 4, 2008 Amber beer with an off-white head. Aroma is faint grapefruit. Flavor is roasted malt and grapefruit bitterness. Finish is bitter. Good IPA. hughie (2206), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 30, 2008 Bottle from BSF Bar, GBBF ’08. Amber with a small off white head. Aroma was initially grapefruit, later revealing sweet malts. Piney hop and malt taste in which creamy, buttery sweetness blends with sharp bitterness. Beautiful. wcampbell (420), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 27, 2008 Good. Pretty strong caramel malt presence. Pretty bitter citrus hop flavor with a lingering bitter finish. Some alcohol taste comes through. Lightly carbonated and very drinkable. Thick mouthfeel for an IPA. BillKismet (1410), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 26, 2008 Picture perfect salmon-tinged amber pint with ample tan head of foam and fluff. Enjoyable citrusy and fruit punch burst in the nostrils along with some mild hop resin. Starts easy on the palate, but then raw, leafy hop notes and moderate to strong bitterness takes the stage. Resilient btter-sour twang on the back of the palate. I would conjecture there is a healthy dose of Chinook hops in this one.
