3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great caramel color with a big foamy head and excellent lacing. Not a strong nose but has citrusy hints. Taste is mild grapefruit with slight pepper but only improves as it sits. Pretty good version of a west coast IPA.

Starts with a bitter hops taste and finishes with a smooth (minimal) aftertaste, a quality IPA overall

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bitter, dry, with some character of biscuit and light malt. tastes like classic northwest hops. pretty straightforward, but not as good as mirror pond or black butte.

Not much of an aroma. Color looks like Yeungling. Lame. Tastes like sweet bananas. Would only drink this if it were free. But then, of course, I would drink a lot of it.

2.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Aroma: floral, citrus, banana, bubblegum.
Appearance: amber, orange, hazy, frothy, white foam.
Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness.
Palate: full body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter finish.
Overall: This is one of my favorite IPAs, because of the perfect balance of flavors and mouthfeel. The malt character keeps the hops from dominating the flavor. The generous 6.8% alcohol content reaches you fast.

Nice malty brown flavored IPA. Compares with Newcastle if it were an IPA. The labels are boring.

Aroma of tropical fruit, nice amber color with a somewhat dark creamy head, the color and head really stood out. Taste is malty with some sweetness and pronounced bitterness, nice bitterness on the backend too. I really enjoyed this beer.

Another purely mediocre brew from Deschutes.....I seem to remember a time when I really liked the beers from Bend but not anymore. Since then I have become a HUGE fan of IPAs (faves include Midnight Sun Sockeye Red IPA and 21st Amendment Back in Black IPA) but the PacNW IPAs seem to pale in comparison to the newer brewers suds. Inversion pours deep orange with a very foamy head, often overflowing my 16oz pint glass...could have been just this 12-pack but it seemed really over fizzy compared to past experiences. Flavor is a flat bitterness with very little sweetness or taste to enjoy. Finish is unbearably bitter and stays in your mouth, I dont taste much of anything here except the sting of bubbles on my tounge. Im taking the rest of the 12er to work to give away, will be the last time I drop $13 for this cruddy brew.
