Commercial Description:
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

Poured a nuice amber color with an almost white head. Aroma was fairly sweet for an IPA caramel, and citrusy hops. Flavor was also caramel sweetness, some medicinal hop flavors and a nice bitter finish.

Beer pours lightly cloudy copper color with a totally retained off white colored head. Aroma is bracingly citric, sharp grapefruit aroma, pretty juicy as well. Flavor is sharply bitter, with sharp grapefruit flavor, light orange juice, maybe a hint of caramel malt, but hard to find through the hoppiness. Pretty good. Thanks Andre’

Bottle. Aroma of citrus, orange rind, pine, and some bready malt. The flavor is very similar with a little bit of a lemon grass sort of bitterness. Maybe a little too much carbonation also.

I liked this IPA. Not as piney as other IPAs; a bit sweet and caramel. We kicked back in the hotel room after the day was done, and had a few.

Bottle from the great ditmier. Pours a dark orange almost amber color with a decently lasting off white head. Aromas of sticky resin pine and a little caramel. Incredibly full bodied for a straight ipa and the pine hop flavors are sick. The finish is a slightly alcoholic bitterness but just the right amount to make it interesting. Really good straight up IPA.

12oz bottle. Brown-amber color. Brewery wort and fresh hop aroma. Full bodied, classic West Coast IPA characteristics. Floral and bitter hop characteristics, well balanced by a nice malt backbone. Incorporates a little more dryness and fruity characteristics than most WIPAs, a very nice beer.

Dark amber with nice thick, creamy head and sticky lacing. Aroma and flavor is citrus and pine and hops. Good medium powered IPA with a good citrus finish. Not bad!

I’m a sucker for heavily hopped American IPA and this one is in my favorite style. Heavily hopped in the nose and the taste, with a long bitter finish. Hops are bitter and citric, like a serious slam of grapefruit rind. Balanced with sweet malts. Reminds me of a Double Dead Guy, but with bonus points for being what is now considered low-to-moderate alcohol levels in a super-bitter IPA.
