COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Enter, if you will, all the glorious aromatic complexity of the hop. This big, bold IPA’s intense multi-hop kick gets a subtle dose of restraint from select Crystal and Carastan malts. For discriminating hop heads.

(12oz bottle, thanks Bück Dich) Pillowy beige head atop a lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/orange, pine, some cookie, caramel, pineapple. Taste is medium sweet, strong grapefruit, cookie/caramel, some pine. Dry finish. Soft, chewy medium body. The intensity of the hop acidity occasionally is unpleasant.

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC that time we drank lots of beer. Pours red-gold with a small, white foam head. Big caramel nose with hints of pine. Medium sweet flavor with more caramel, toast, some gritty pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Piney hop finish with still lots of caramel, some dank grapefruit. OK. Might not be at its freshest, that’s for sure.

Aromas of citrus (grapefruit?) and malt? A bit redder than most IPAs, and a bit more body. Something like a thinner, hoppier doppel bock? The grassy finish covers both sides and top of tongue. Curl up with this one. (or these three) A major Deschutes innovation.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2006) Orange, white head. Hoppy, citric and grassy aroma. Very hoppy flavor, very much an american IPA.
