Commercial Description:
After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

12 oz. Bottle. Pours pale/amber and clear with little to no froth. Smells of citrus, resin and lemons. A moderate bitterness is present during the swallow, the finish is fizzy and thin but very tasteful. The perfect IPA, the taste is complex and diverse. High recommendation.

My current favorite brand of my favorite style. I like this beer...a little too much. I could go on and on about its balance and beauty and big fat smack of ecstacy but I’ll just say, "BUY IT!" If you can’t buy it. I’m truly sorry.

Had this beer on CASK at HORSEBRASS PUB in Portland, OR. Amber color, casking creates beautiful lacing on the glass. Maple notes in the nose. "Aged" cedar aroma and bright floral hops. bitter, bitter, bitter, I want to homebrew a beer just like this one. Cascade?

On tap at Mac’s Place. Good Size head. Amber/Orange color. Sweet hoppiness up front. Bittersweet dry grapefruit finish and aftertaste. Tons of grapefruit and a little pine in this one, the malts are barely noticeable. Bitter finish ahd aftertaste. Medium bodied. Pretty tasty and refreshing IPA.

A very hoppy, tasty West Coast IPA, my favorite type. One of the better, if not the best IPA, available in a bottle in Las Vegas. Plenty of kick and fruity/Hoppy after-taste. Very enjoyable.

On tap at Deschutes brewery in Portland.
EXCELLENT! Delicious hop profile. IBU’s for days while still maintaining a great malt backbone. Great mouth feel and lacing. One of my favorite IPA’s!

A: Poured with a beautiful large, white head, that exhibited excellent lacing in clumps and spiderweb patterns on the sides of the glass. Body is hazy and a perfect orange/red color... beautiful to look at. S: Very nice aroma of heavy hops with pine, lemon and lime throughout. There’s also a hint of sweetness in the form of the malt (caramel, maybe?) that offers a slight tilt away from all hops. T: Wow... a perfect balance of sweetness and hoppiness for an IPA, meaning that it is slightly sweet at the beginning, but ends with a high amount of hops and citrus for a nice, long duration. M: Great on the palate as well, with a medium-full body, creamy texture, and average-soft carbonation. D: One of my favorite IPAs... after doing a taste-test of 6-7 IPAs in a row, this was a perfect one to finish off with. Makes me ashamed to think of how it was only months ago that I avoided hoppy beers whenever possible, but extremely happy that I’ve finally turned around.
